Heat have to be favorites as of now cause they have played together and the nets roster is not yet complete however I could see it going either way with the outcome hinging on which group of stars steps up

Would be a epic 6 game but i would go with Miami because of the allen signing

Last year it was Dallas until proven differently. Now its Miami until proven differently. They've earned that.

I am Nets fan. And I can tell you right now. Even if we land Dwight.

we won't beat the heat as they played last year in a best of 7. However, wait 1 year so we can build our bench and they will be bye bye bye.

It's not rebuilding, it's building around. Just like LBJ, Wade and Bosh did in their first season.

Great starting five, probably better then most teams. But they need a supporting cast...which will come with experience and time

Deron and Dwight can both cause huge problems for Miami but unless the league makes the officiating changes they are hinting at, Johnson and Wallace would essentially start each game with 2 fouls.

Heat in 6 maybe 7. Looks like lebron finally figured out what to do in the playoffs. (post game)

Heat are still better just because they have more cohesion and familiarity at this point. But on sheer talent alone, I think the Nets have Miami bested.

Fred

They need to get past OKC first. Don't think they have the athleticism tho.

Nycbball08

Real talk, the heat is a "SUPER" team and I don't see anyone beating them right now currently constructed...even with D12 the Nets are a long shot.. It would take DW/ JJ/ D12 and KD to beat the Heat...as for my Knicks, it would take cp3/ Melo/ Love and Chandler...

what happens when dwight gets in foul trouble?

what happens when dwight gets in foul trouble?

If the Heat play a small ball line-up, and bring Dwight out of the post, that negates his defensive effectiveness.

that will help. but he will kill us on the boards and second chance points.

That was supposed to be the case with Perkins and Ibaka, but it did not prove to be true.

If we can play good team ball, the effect should be minimal

So the Celtics that took Heat to 7 games would beat the BK Nets with that line up no! Would the OKC Thunder beat the BK Nets last year? No.

I guess you all are forgetting who Deron Williams, JJ,Gerald Wallace,Dwight Howard is two superstars an all star and a hell of a defender.

Would be a terrible coaching choice to play small ball against Dwight Howard

I understand you are excited, but lets not go overboard here. Miami would be favorites vs the nets.

First of all, this trade is not anywhere near being done. The twitter reporters are making it seem like its a lot closer to finished than it is.

2nd, IF we actually get Dwight, there is a much better chance Mirza is starting over Reggie with the style he plays

3rd, playoffs let alone the season hasn't even started. A injury could come up here and there, you never know if EITHER of these teams would make it. Boston, Indiana, New York could all "upset" either of these teams if luck/injuries goes their way. Nets need a bench even if they get Dwight to compete with the teams mentioned

Heat question marks - Getting a big like Camby
Nets question marks - How will Howard look coming back from injury? How long will he be out? Will Joe Johnson randomly disappear from games like he did for the Hawks? Who's going to play against Lebron and Allen and Battier when JJ and Gerald are resting? What kind of bench? Coaching style?

Nets have alot to figure out before they can seriously contend with the Heat. Not to mention they have to land Howard first. The Nets would be an extremely talented team and with time and a few right pieces could be great. But with JJ's contract, Deron and Dwights max deals, and GW, they'll be more cash strapped than the Heat.

It would be a great series, GForce playing Lebron and JJ playing Wade on the perimeter, with Dwight guarding the paint... Heat 4-4 against Magic since the Big 3 joined up.

I think it's safe to say, it will definitely be a great series.

Nets will have that Teletovic guy who's no pushover. And it sounds like Jrich will come off the bench too. They can then fill in the bench with guys like Michael Redd who will probably sign for the vet min.

Hard to go against Lebron but the Nets will be right there. Would be a really fun series to watch.

If howard gets a max, Williams got a max, wallace got a big contract, and Johnson is on a max deal. how much is their payroll there alone?

Not to sound like a homer, but the HEAT are on a whole another level. Especially LeBron. Wade just had knee surgery and we all know how that faired the following season. On top of that we signed Jesus Shuttleworth. Plus another season under our belt together.

Don't get me wrong the Nets squad would be disgusting, but IMO they can't hang. It would be very entertaining to watch though. Can't wait! (If it happens)
