Mavericks, Cavaliers, Rockets May Interest Bynum
July 8 at 5:25pm CST By Ryan Raroque

Yahoo's Adrian Wojnarowski tweets that the Mavericks and Cavaliers are teams with cap space that could interest Andrew Bynum during his pending free agency in 2013. He also mentions the Rockets as another potential suitor. The Lakers recently exercised Bynum's $16.1MM team option for the 2012-13 season, and the 24-year-old center is currently slated to become a free agent next summer.

OK so knowing this could there be a 3-way trade with the Rockets, Magic, and Lakers involving Andrew Bynum and Dwight Howard?

Let's discuss as I want to hear opinions from all teams associated.

I think Woj is way off here.

That being said, the report stated something along the lines of "If he doesn't get an extension from the Lakers"

Yeah the Rockets have a lot to offer. Most importantly the Rockets can take on the contracts of J-Rich and Hedo Turkoglu. Then we have 3 potential 1st rd pick in next years draft including the Raptors pick which is only top 3 protected. We also have 7 1st rd draft pick players drafted in the last 3 years. And Houston would kill for a chance at Andrew Bynum knowing that he would sign an extension.

so im hearing bynum is saying he won't sign the extension with orlando, he is pissed the lakers are constantly trying to trade him even though hes young and just started on the allstar team. He will not sign with the lakers and will leave via free agency when he has the shot.

I gained a lot of respect for Bynum for even considering the Mavs after what happened this off season.

Mavs would love to accept him as a free agent.

But he got ejected, suspended, and we swept them. Barea was ok and I was pretty satisfied with the outcome.

(I'd take Bynum and would love to get Barea back;) )

JasonJohnHorn

I don't get why LA is even interested in trading this guy, unless they are getting Dwight back in return. Bynum is a better offensive player than his Howard, and can be almost as good a rebounder and is a respectable defender. If I was LA, I would just be interested in signing Bynum long term, unless there is a deal for Howard on the table. Howard will sign long term with LA when his contract comes up because the Nets will be so far over the cap that they won't even be able to offer Howard a tenth of what the Lakers could, and the Lakers would be the only contenders able to offer a max contract.

Loser mentallity.

He wants to go to a bad team so its "his" team, and he can pad stats and do a worhthless 30 and 13 stat line while the team has a 20-62 record.

Got news for you Bynum, if you sign with Cavs its KYRIES team, not yours, if you go to Mavs its DIRKS team.

1) You should be happy that Pau will be getting more touches with Bynum gone
2) The Cavs won 21 games in a 66 game season, so you're saying adding Bynum means they'll lose more?

I doubt either of those 3 teams will "suck" with him on there. Depends on who they send back of coarse, but dirk and bynum together can do some damage. And the rockets would LOVE to rebuild around Bynum,Parsons,Lamb

we seriously need to wait till bynum has Nash for a year. You put him on a team with a PG who can pass rather than sit and watch fish and Kobe jack bad shots. Of course the guy is frustrated. You put him on a team like Cleveland or Houston where he is the focus and he'll go nuts. Every one days he losses interest but how hard is it to work out still summer, shoot sixty percent, dominate all game and go 14 for 15, and spend the forth watching Kobe and fish jack bad shots. He losses interest because he is on a team where he gets ignored despite dominating. Mike brown started running plays for him and he's an allstar. You actually pass to him and he'll go nuts. Pau is the only one doing that right now

I actually really get the Cavs. Youth aside, Dan Gilbert would suck his dick everyday for the rest of his career if he willingly signed up to come there and save that team. They would throw him parades, give him a holiday, and cheer him no matter what. Sheer *** kissng that the move would bring is worth it for him as he has already knocked out 4 things players strive for:

- Money, made more at the age than Kobe and Shaq did
- Name value, got over rated over Odom like he contributed as part of the triple towers
- All star bid, got that last year thanks to the fans
- Rings, got 2 of them already

Now its about seeing how good he is as an individual, record chasing, and more money

Rockets could sign 2 max deals like a Chris Paul and Andrew Bynum next year. Then you could ask whose team is it but would it matter, especially if D-Mo turns out to be a really good player. Then we have very solid role players to surround them.
