If he wants to do it for sentimental reasons since he was most famous for his first stint with the Knicks, he'll go back there.

If he wants a legitimate chance at a ring now that Dwight is going to get traded to the Nets, he should go to Brooklyn.

If I'm him....I go to Brooklyn.

It would be funny as hell if he decided to sign with the Nets and then was included in a trade that sent him to Orlando for Dwight at the trade deadline.

About Marcus Camby potentially being S/T'd

The Miami Herald’s Jackson reported that the Heat have offered Joel Anthony, Norris Cole and a future first-round draft picks to the Rockets. The Knicks could send the expiring contract of point guard Toney Douglas, center Josh Harrelson, and the non-guaranteed contract of Dan Gadzuric, Jackson reported.

From this quote, I think he might be going to the Heat...

Depends. The Knicks can also throw in cash... still, surprised they'd offer Cole AND Anthony...

Miami has set their sights at Lewis who will be going to dinner with them soon after Camby canceled on them.

Melo said he's going to talk to him tonight after the Knicks meet with him. All signs point he's Knick bound, IMO. Only way he goes to Brooklyn is if they decide to stop going after Dwight and go with a Lopez/Camby rotation.

I could be wrong though.

Not sure if serious :eyebrow:

Might wanna look up Houston's current depth chart, that should explain half the story already. Add to that the fact Houston is going into FULL rebuild mode, and the fact you get a 21 y.o prospect that fills a position of need, a back-up center that doesn't cost too much AND a future pick is a lot more attractive than Josh Harrelson and Toney Douglas.

NY doesn't have the greatest luck in FA. Kidd was a shocker, I can't see 2 in the same off season.

Would love him back in NY. We need a rebounder and Legit backup big in the worse way.

It's easy to see when you consider our situation....

-Over the cap
-Into the Luxury Tax by the time you fill the roster
-Only the mini-MLE to work with ($3M) and *maybe* $5M or $6M in S&T pieces
-Need another SG (Lost Fields, Shumpert injured 1/2 the year)
-Need a stronger back up C
-Last year's back up PG's were Davis (out for the year), TD (awful PG), and Bibby (awful PG)

So, Kidd upgrades the PG position, is affordable ($3M), is experienced (good for mentoring Lin), and leaves us enough room to strengthen either the C, the SG or both.

The Knicks weren't expecting alot in the off season because we just don't have much to work with in terms of trade pieces or exceptions. So, while Nash would have been Great, our options after Nash are pretty darn limited.

Miami is a team built of guys who put money aside to win titles. If he isnt willing to do that, than I dont want him. Let him go to the Knicks or Nets.

Hinrich is unlikely for $3M. I expect $4M+ offers on him... ie, if you can't get him with mini-MLE, you're stuck.

I'm sure Lin could learn a few things from Hinrich, but if you are the Knicks and Lin, wouldn't you rather have him learn from Kidd, one of the best to ever do it?

Jason Kidd is top 5 all time in numerous categories. He is the better player. Even at this stage. Per game averages don't tell the whole story.
