The Magic, Nets and Cavaliers are in serious talks on a three-team trade that involves Dwight Howard and many other players.

Orlando is still weighing options. Magic brass will meet tomorrow morning to decide if this is best deal. A trade could be completed Monday.

https://twitter.com/AlexKennedyNBA

Jarrod N Rudolph ‏@JRudolphSports
Magic will complete one last sweep before completing the trade, sources say. They want to make sure they’re accepting best offer.

Sources: Magic, Nets and Cavaliers near completion of Dwight Howard trade. Deal will include 11 players, cash and multiple draft picks.

Tommy Dee ‏@TommyDeeTKB
Again, I maintain based on sound information that the deal is very close to getting done. Howard to the Nets. cleveland third team.

Have a feeling that it's not LAL either. Watch it be Atlanta... Pretty sure he'll leave though and drag out his injury.

ATL with a team of:

Teague/Farmar/Harris
Jenkins
Morrow
J-Smith
Howard

and really not much of a bench, isn't going to be better than a 5-6 seed imo. If I'm ATL, I just wait it out for a year anyways.

They cleared the deck to put the full court press on CP3 next year. With Howard's Bird Rights, and the best PG in the game to feed him in the post/throw lobs, he would be passing up a lot to leave.

Pingalore's sources, who requested anonymity because of the sensitivity of the proceedings, were not ready to name the team that the Magic were trading
Howard to at this time.

Pingalore's sources believe that the Los Angeles Lakers are very much in play for Howard.

Im not sure about their cap situation, but i think they can sign some FA. They need a SF and a bench. Hopefully by the time this trade is done all the good FA would've been picked up and they're left with ****** players.

Or maybe Lebron was his own man and just made a choice to relocate, as Ray Allen and Steve Nash did this week.

Cavs were 42-40 and out of the playoffs when Ferry was hired there. In his five seasons, they got to one Finals and won 60+ games two other seasons. And he was smart enough not to mortgage the future for Amare, the same Amare that Knicks fans would do almost anything to get rid of right now.

Haha parity. I will be highly surprised of he goes to Atlanta. He's going to LA because the Lakers gotta reload. Plus a lakers -Heat Finals will be ratings galore. The revenue that 7 game series will have will be insane. People want to see stars and that series will have it.

Hated yes but that still draws ratings which is what it is all about. I don't plan on watching any of it personally unless it is a non-heat, non-laker series. It'd be nice to see the Atlantas, Phoeni, Milwaukees of the league take center stage but that won't happen. If Howard isn't a laker I'll be shocked.

This is crazy and funny. Howard want to go to Nets everyone outside Brooklyn is asking Why. I myself have scratch my head in a hole. Its mind boggling. Lets be real Heat is going to be better next season its not like they are going to be the same. Nets roaster was not that bad yet they finish the season very badly. So i might question a few things outside their roaster. Even Williams hated the team. Ok now they got a shinny new building and move to Brooklyn now they are the team to beat? please. I think New York had the the same thinking When the Sign Mello, Amare,Chandler,Davis. I hate to Admit but Super teams are the in thing. Look Nash,Kobe,Artest,Pau,Howard is a crazy team If they Land Howard and get a athletic SF to start ahead of Artest this could be one of the best teams in the History of the NBA. I think not just Laker Fans but NBA fans not in Miami or Brooklyn want to see that team put together.

Nobody's said much about the Hawks, but from a quick analysis they'd seem to be the logical choice. Josh Smith is even Howard's good friend, as I understand it, and Howard is actually from Georgia. Also Atlanta has some assets to send Orlando's way.

Obviously the Lakers are the best destination... it seems likely that the agents are trying to direct Dwight toward Los Angeles. At this point Orlando is probably trying to get into a better negotiating position; they realize they have a hot property and are still trying to make a very favorable deal, rather than "just take Bynum and feel good you got a good young center in return." Also, Orlando may still be working on waking up their owner and explaining to him that "hey, we gotta trade this guy."

The Nets... it just seems highly unlikely at this point. AND, as I might've mentioned before, Howard probably doesn't even want to go there now.

The Clippers would be a more likely backup destination... if they sent 2 or 3 good young players (not Griffin or CP3 obviously) and 2 or 3 first round picks. And Howard lands in the big market etc. Of course if he chose the Clippers over the Lakers you'd have to really wonder at that point.

Golden State... extremely unlikely. Not impossible, but maybe Dwight just really craves anonymity and a small town environment on a team that isn't competitive. Maybe he finds that more comfortable, in which case he isn't good for LA anyway, so if he chooses Golden State, I don't care.

Most likely place, in order:

1. Lakers 45% chance
2. Atlanta 40% chance
3. Nets 5% chance
4. Clippers 4% chance
5. Warriors 1% chance

Yeah, haha, you're right I don't have any special "Tweets" to source my story, bro.

I did read that Brooklyn has a very, very tight window to try to get Dwight, some experts think there is a way, involving a third team, others think that it's impossible. That was as I read it.

In any case, it should be obvious that Brooklyn didn't sign Joe Johnson with the intention of getting Dwight. Dwight has to know that, in other words, to know that Brooklyn didn't want him that bad after all. And now, Brooklyn is a team with three chuckers, Deron, Gerald Wallace and Joe Johnson.

Also, if reports out of LA are correct, the Lakers are prepared to deal for Dwight and let him go to free agency, feeling that once he gets here, he will feel happy and at home. Believe me, if the Orlando ownership could talk him into extending, wait till you see what it is like when the Laker ownership shows him true friendship and trust. Force him to extend? Why? Lakers keep the door open, if you want to leave, there is the door. Leave it to the crap franchises to "lock" the door on their players, "lock them up" longterm.

Believe me when I say this, that every Laker player, every day, is always a free agent. Shaq thought he was the greatest Laker in history, but he said one time he wanted to be traded, and he was in Miami the next day. The Lakers will never "force" a player to stay in LA, no matter if they are signed long term or extended or whatever.

Lakers will never beg, Lakers will never pressure.

So, if Dwight wants to join the best team in pro basketball, that possibility is there for him, only for the reason that the team he is currently stuck with, Orlando, desperately wants some pieces the Lakers can send in trade. So the door is open.

But you're right, if he is totally insistent on Brooklyn, he's not coming to the Lakers. It would be interesting to see him in Brooklyn, might make for some good Sunday games.

And he can choose not to stay in that place where he's forced to which would basically destroy that team because that team would have to give up their valuable assets for a one year rental. See it goes both ways. Dwight will go exactly the place where he wants to be. It could be the Nets, Hawks, Lakers or any other team but NOBODY can force him go somewhere except Adidas ($). With such a fragile, weak, and immature mind anything can happen to be honest. So nothing is set on stone with this guy but as long as he sticks to his plan NONE can force him stay somewhere more than just the next season.

1. If they wanted to do the deal that the Lakers have, they would already do it by now. I think, that Jim Buss loves Bynum too much to give him for a disgruntled superstar who you don't have insurance that he will be there long term. If the Lakers did the deal with no extension from Dwight, to be honest, there pointing the gun to there head.

2. The Nets still have a chance to get Dwight .We reworked Mirza Teletovic's contract from 5 million to 3 million, so that's helps us clear cap for Dwight if traded.

3. Dwight has repeatedly said that "I not singing with LA, because of "living up to greats, carrying out legacies of past Laker big men". (Miken, Kareem, Shaq, etc.). Dwight wants to create his own legacy and Brooklyn provides that.

4. All reporters always say that Lakers have the best shot. Last time I check, a couple of L.A. homers (J.A. Adande, etc.) have all believe the Lakers have the best shot right now at Dwight. Even frigging Ken Berger is on the dark side sometimes.:laugh2:

5. Personally, I think the Lakers deal is better than Nets one. But in terms of what the situation the Magic are in with Dwight demands is the reason why Orlando can't make the deal with LA. I honestly believe LA is hesitant to give up Bynum without Dwight committing long-term, which puts Brooklyn in a good position and the Magic in pressure mode.

6. Deron is an all-round (All Pro) top 3 PG, JJ is a top 5 (6-time All Star) SG in this league, and Wallace is a really good (former All-Star) 2 way forward. You just assumed that the 3 players combined is like a ball hogging Kobe (I truly respect Kobe, don't get me wrong).

7. Know the trade for JJ with Dwight's part, doesn't mean he's exploring options. It would probably mean that Dwight wants to go to the Nets immediately (believe it or not).

8. The Magic organization doesn't know SQUAT about the Lakers, believe me.

9. I don't think LA, HOU, ATL , DAL, etc. Would you what to give up majors or young assets without Dwight's name on the dotted line? No extension in LA, means no deal.

And finally, 10. The Nets deal is not BAD, its just not high demand. Personally, 3 1st round draft picks, a promising center in Lopez, a young up-in-coming SG in MarShon Brooks, and getting rid of Hedo or J-Rich is not that bad either. BRK is also trying and (I think they will), find a third team to complete the trade to take Humphries with them. A team like Philly (who they really like and got rid of Elton Brand) could be part of the deal. While Hump is not athletic, he's a really good rebounder and plays his *** off every game. Also, Hennigan, the GM of the Magic, was part of the San Antonio and OKC tree, so I think he's wise in building though the draft with 1st round picks, early or late. You also traded picks in order to get Nash (which I really like it), but is another sticking point to any Dwight to LA deal.

Man, my fingers are tired for typing this post. this is my final one. SAVE IT, SAVE IT 2DAY!

ok.... This trade would have happen already if Pat wanted Howard... These GM's need to step their game up.

Pat could probably get Howard for a bowl of rice, but it's the secret sauce that would have sealed the deal:D

Bad move for Orlando. Your trading him within the conference and giving him what he wants. If you want this deal it will still be there at deadline. Don't see the rush if he's going to BK
