good signing for the Bulls. hoped they didn't overpay for him like all the free agent signed this summer.

Finally the bulls got a deal done with a free agent. I'm glad to hear captain kirk is heading back to chicago. He is just what they needed, a guy who can play the point and play some 2 guard.

I believe they only had a little over 3 million to spend so i'm guessing they didn't over pay him.

Like all the free agents?

Or perhaps fans tend to Undervalue the value of these players, especially given the new CBA and nature of RFA/GA...

Good signing for the Bulls. Slight upgrade over CJ Watson as backup PG when Rose gets back. Hope Rose gets well soon though.....

if that so, he's a great signing. a good teammate, plays in control, able to defend, always been liked in Chicago, good job Bulls FO.

Sigh. Really wanted my 76ers to go after Kirk. Solid signing by the Bulls however just the type of PG they needed in Rose's absence.

My pipe dream of the 76ers picking up Courtney Lee and Hinrich this offseason is over. Looks like the Bulls may actually be the ones to get em both.

Bulls apparently using taxpayer MLE on Hinrich, via @KCJHoop report, which is sign they likely keep Korver and may even match Asik.

If they match Asiks contract, that FO is ****ing stupid.

Yeah this means Boozer will be amnestied and Deng would come off the books in 2014. Instant cap space and Asik would be a huge expiring contract too. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

he is not worth 8 million a year. Asik is a solid player and has room to grow, but you can't pay a guy off of potential. To many teams make that mistake and it comes back to bite them in the ***. Besides, no one really knows what his potential really is. I mean, his rookie year, he was skinny and weak, I thought maybe he would of come back this year bulked up and he didn't so unless that really changes, I don't believe he is worth anywhere near what houston would pay him.

hmmm, seems the bulls went for a more heady PG, considering the mental mistakes watson made vs the sixers

If they matched houstons offer, asik wouldn't come off the books till 2015. personally, I would let rose take his time to heal and get all that cap space in 2 years. I think having a fresh rose with maybe him and noah on the books with all that cap space is the way to go. I know some bulls fans think differently, but I think it's the smart thing to do. Especially if the bulls are going to really compete with miami and OKC for the next 5-7 years.

I'm REALLY excited to watch him dribble out the shot clock again, just like the old days. Awesome signing!! Who says efficiency matters when you can have ******** fan favorites??

I hope he falls off his airplane mid-flight to Chicago.

Classy. You really have a problem if your obsession with something would lead you to such negative comments.

What else did you expect? He was a very good point guard for us for 6 years and the leader of a very young team that turned things around after the futile post-Jordan years and returned to the playoffs. He's still a good player that will fill Rose's spot perfectly until he returns and then will be a great backup and can even start at the 2 at times and bring scoring along with defense to the table unlike Brewer when he was filling in for Rip. Not to mention he will be a Tom Thibodeau favorite.

I like the pickup. Hinrich isn't a perfect player by any means, but brings good defense and can score (as least I hope he still can). My main concern with him is his shooting pct. It's been pretty bad most of his career. This past season he averaged 6.6 ppg at 41% shooting. Guess it's a good thing we have such a good rebounding team.
