View Full Version : Nets, Mavs, Bulls, Cavs, Thunder on Derek Fisher's List

07-05-2012, 11:30 PM

Whether or not they trade for Dwight Howard, the Nets are in the market for a back-up point guard at a cheap price. Thursday night, Howard Beck is reporting that Derek Fisher is considering Brooklyn among other teams.

Fisher had been talking to the Knicks, but with New York coming to an agreement with Jason Kidd, Fisher is looking elsewhere.

"The Nets are now among the front-runners to sign Fisher, along with the Mavericks, the Chicago Bulls, the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Oklahoma City Thunder," Beck writes. "Fisher, who won five titles with the Lakers, joined the Thunder in February and was a key part of the rotation for Oklahoma City, which lost to the Miami Heat in the finals."

With Eric Maynor returning from injury, the Thunder may not need Fisher, who averaged 22 minutes per game in the playoffs, shooting 42 percent (38 percent from three point range).

:pity: Why doesn't this guy just retire?

Bulls only FA signing

07-06-2012, 12:37 AM
I think he'd be great with some sort of coaching gig with the Lakers.

Fisher isn't much anymore but he's still good enough to knock down 1 or 2 shots in key moments.

07-06-2012, 12:41 AM
he should retire or be some kind of coach but if not, id say mavs or bulls. but i don't even think they would want him

07-06-2012, 12:54 AM
Bulls need somebody better than Fisher as eiher a stater while rose is out or even less backup PG. Fisher is a nice guy if worse comes to worse ( like OKC when Maynor went down) but I would actualy take CJ Watson over this guy at this point in his carer.

With Knicks getting Kidd nets need a vet pg, I'd take fisher he is liked by all his teammates and leads.

07-06-2012, 02:58 AM
please for the love of god just retire

:pity: Why doesn't this guy just retire?

You're really asking why a guy who has made 3-6 million a year for over a decade for playing basketball and still gets a ton of run on title contenders won't retire?

Did anyone else notice he stepped up in that last game with the thunder??? He can still be an effective bench player.

07-06-2012, 03:48 AM
Honestly, the only places he makes sense to me are the Knicks, OKC, HEAT, and LAL. The Cavs, I get it. I understand he'd get more money and get to tutor a very good and young PG in our boy, but doesn't he want spotlight and playoffs action? That's what those four teams are going to get.

:pity: Why doesn't this guy just retire?

He's signed to be president for 2 more years.

I think he would fit in BK as he and Deron have chemistry and respect. He could play with him or spell him, provide a calm voice which as we all know from reports, Deron doesn't have, and let's face it Brook, Hump, Brooks, Green don't know the meaning of the word win. He can teach them how to be a pro and hold their hand
