The Brooklyn Nets have targeted Milwaukee Bucks restricted free-agent forward Ersan Ilyasova if they fall short of completing a blockbuster trade for Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

The Bucks have offered Ilyasova a five-year contract near $40 million, league sources said, and so far have shown no desire to partner in a sign-and-trade deal that the Nets need to acquire him.

Ilyasova, 25, has listened to overtures from other teams and is waiting to see what unfolds. He’s taking two visits to two teams with salary-cap space this week, including the Cleveland Cavaliers, sources said.

He'd be a great back up plan. I really am high on him. He'd be a real solid fit IMO...

That's a very good backup plan.

I think Ilyasova is on the verge of becoming an All-Star level player in the NBA.

They would make a playoff run with his addition which would be a solid move but D-12 puts them in elite category.

they would have to sign and trade for him, right?

LOL!!! they don't have whats needed in a S&T, poor Nets. Too bad they don't have the "Quality" pieces needed for a S&T

Yes. It says so in the OP ;)

It's unlikely they get him, but he's a great person to be targeting.

Why is their interest in Ilyasova funny? Why are you saying "poor Nets" because they're going to make an attempt to get him? Can't win unless you try...no?

They have assets. If Ilyasova really begs out of there, Brooks, Lopez, Humphries etc. could all be valuable in Milwaukee's eyes. They could use some size...

Bucks will keep him, thus, keeping open the possibility of the Nets acquiring Dwight. :sad2:

Yet you're in every one of them posting the same thing. Keep up the good work.

I'm sure they would try and do something like Hump and a pick or 2. They would probably try and hold off on sending Brooks out (not sure how much they like him and if he'd be a deal breaker for them).

The only way the Nets get in this is if the Bucks think he might sign elsewhere and want to get something in return and the whole Dwight thing finally concludes. Other then that I think MIL likes him since they offered up $8 mil per.
