With the commitment to Joe Johnson, Deron and Wallace and the possibility of offering Lopez a huge contract.....Kris is most likely on way out.

He will fit well on the Mavs IMO

Your thoughts?

Sorry for confusion on last tweet: Jason Kidd -- not Humphries --- would have to take veteran's minimum to sign with Nets.

interesting

David Aldridge: With Williams done, the Nets' next priority is re-signing Brook Lopez, according to a league source. Team also hopes to keep Kris Humphries

Humphries isn't terrible. If he was never linked to a Kardashian - he'd be considered underrated across the board.

He's a good player. He hits the boards, isn't awful defensively, and he's a fairly efficient offensive player. If Landry Fields is worth over 6 mill a year, Humphries should be able to get 3 years, 21 mill.

Adrian Wojnarowski: For Kris Humphries to stay with Nets, he would have to accept the veteran's minimum salary and that isn't happening. So consider him gone

Nets have his bird rights so we can go over cap to sign him but at this point our options right now are as follows:

1.Dwight
2.Ersan Illyasova
3.Kris Humphries

You mean rebound? Trying teaching that to Humph's teammate Brook Lopez... lol. You can't teach rebounding to some people... lol

Well sort of. You can go over the cap, but with Williams, Johnson, Wallace, Brooks, Teletovic, Evans, you've got ~$20,717,212 to fill out the roster with 6 more guys including Humphries and Lopez. That's a hard cap. Given the market for big men so far this year, there's a real decent chance you can't just resign Lopez and Humphries.

Also not sure how this Illyasova rumour works. Where's the money coming from? You haven't got the assets to trade for him, and only have the $1.957m biannual exception after that. No idea how people expect him to end up on Brooklyn's roster.

Also Dwight is literally impossible now unless Deron turns around and takes less or the Nets back out of Evans, Teletovic, or JJ.

I think the most likely thing is that they don't end up with any of the guys you listed.

1. we can afford Dwight and we would have to sign and trade and it would work.
-Reggie Evans contract is absorbed by a TE
-Teletovic is the MLE
-We also have another TE for 1.5 mil

2. Only way we get Illyasova is just like Dwight a sign and trade

I understand people hate Hump around the league but he really is an effective player.

He averaged 14 and 11 this year with a lacking Nets team. He can make an impact on any team that needs a rebounder. Any team that he goes to will certainly like him.

But I agree with this post completely. He was a great effort guy when he was here in Toronto. Now that he's in NJ, he's proven his worth being a double-double guy. Decent Defender. It surprised me that some team didn't try and sign him to a bigger contract last season.

When you see idiots like Tyrus Thomas raking in money for being a ******* to his team and you see this hard worker for his past teams have to wait to resign a 1 yr deal, it just makes me want to :bang:

Agreed if underachieving overpaid bigs like Jordan, Biedrinis, Haywood can get large deals, Humphries based on his rebounding ability and hustle should get much more.

You're wrong about affording Dwight. It doesn't matter how you got their salaries onto the books (which is all the MLE and TEs do), once you have them on the books they all count towards your salary number. You used the full non-taxpayer MLE, which means you have to remain below the $74.307m taxpayer apron for the rest of the year, without exception. Add Dwight onto Deron, JJ, Wallace, Reggie, Teletovic, and that takes you above $74.307, which you can't do. Unless Deron or Teletovic take a few million less than has been reported, those 6 guys can't fit on your roster together. The rules are clear and the math is simple. It's all there in Hollinger's piece on the Deron signing on the NBA front page of ESPN if you don't want to take my word for it.
I'm sorry, but if the JJ, Reggie, Teletovic, DWill, Wallace deals go through as reported then Dwight is off the table.

The problem with number 2 is that is that you still need to convince Humphries or Lopez to play in Milwaukee. They're free agents with their own favourites just like Illya is, and Milwaukee isn't exactly the hottest FA destination.
