According to a tweet from Howard Beck of the New York Times, the Nets have reached an agreement in principle on a three-year contract with European forward Mirza Teletovic.

Teletovic, a 6-9 Bosnian, bought out his contract with his Spanish league team, Saski Baskonia (also known as Caja Laboral) this summer and reports had him wanting to play in the NBA for the Nets or Cleveland Cavaliers. Later reports had him agreeing to a deal with the Nets.

Looks like its official now.

Nets will use midlevel exception to sign Teletovic, which, as others pointed out, means they can't use that on Jason Kidd

The Nets do not have Gerald Greens Bird Rights, so re-signing him at this point is unlikely. Nets risking a lot on Teletovic

I think this should stick as there aren't much "rumors" on it.

The deal has been reached in principle.

I like Green. With the Nets losing his Bird rights, will they have room to resign him?

Using the full MLE triggers a hard cap at $74 mil that they are not allowed to exceed. Basically, its an official bye-bye to any Dwight trade this year

Nope. He's not going to take a vet min, he could get more elsewhere.

i hope so. i see him being worth 3-4 mil, but i also see someone upping it to around 6 mil and losing him. does king realize that he was a essential part of the team last year once he signed with us?

This means no Dwight, no Green, and no Kidd

Good move Nets! Wonder who is going to come off the bench besides Brooks

All they have to offer people now is vet minimum (If D Will signs)

I'd love to see him join my team in Toronto. I doubt it would be his first choice though.

Possibly, but he is coming off probably his best year ever, teams will throw money at him. He is young and probably wants to get a nice pay check.

Nets are killing themselves lol

Even if they get D Will they only have (D Will, Lopez, JJ, Wallace, European guy, and brooks)

The rest of the team has to be guys willing to play for 1 million

That's bad IMO because Brooks will be gone when another team throws him money when he is a FA

That core would be signed for a while (D Will, Wallace, JJ, Lopez) is not a championship core IMO

so, this means no dwightno, it doesn't.

They have Lopez' bird rights, Brooks and picks that they can package for Dwight.

LTBaByyy

no, it doesn't.

They have Lopez' bird rights, Brooks and picks that they can package for Dwight.

Wrong.

They have a hard cap at 74 mil now that they used the MLE on this European guy

Deron, JJ, Wallace, European guy, and Dwight make 75 mil

And that's only 5 players. There is no way at all Dwight becomes a net if D Will resigns

No one is taking JJ 20+ mil or Wallace 10 mil
