Yesterday at the Brewers game a man in the Brewers Bullpen collapsed. The carts were called and from where I was sitting you could see that they were doing chest compressions the whole time. You could se an ambulance exiting the freeway and we knew something was up.

Jeff Adcock, a member of the Milwaukee Brewers organization for the past 33 years, died after collapsing Sunday at Miller Park.

Adcock, 51, was grounds crew lead for the Brewers and was in the home bullpen during the Brewers vs. Diamondbacks game. After collapsing early in the game, he was transported to Froedtert Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

“We are all saddened by the news of Jeff’s passing,” said Bob Quinn, Brewers executive vice president. “He was a part of our organization for many years, and was a fixture during games in our bullpen area. Jeff developed many friendships with our uniformed staff, and he will be missed by all of us. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.”

The game between the Brewers and Diamondbacks was delayed for roughly 20 minutes after the first inning while paramedics attended to Adcock in the bullpen area. Emergency personnel were seen administering CPR to Adcock for several minutes.

After the game, which the Brewers won, 2-1, in the bottom of the ninth inning, players and team staff were noticeably subdued and did not talk about the incident. Ryan Braun wouldn't even address his all-star selection, saying, "I think there's constant reminders in life that there's things that are far more important than this game that we play."

The Brewers lost head groundskeeper Gary Vanden Berg last fall when he died after a long battle with cancer.

My aunt was at the game and she sits right near the bullpen, I got a text as soon as it happened. 51 is young still, wonder if it was a heart attack or something else

It's nice to see the team and the stadium pay respect to the guy. Rest in Peace.
