I said this in pre season. He doesn't look good when he runs. Then last week I said he won't last at 3B - he'll end up at 1B/DH/LF inside of six years. They can stop running the kid on the bases too.

WMB really needs to learn how to stretch properly or something!
Hopefully it is nothing to serious.

Crawford and Ells better pick it up when they get here cause Punto and Aviles all year long is a death march to Bataan.

Trade for Scutaro back, and have aviles play 3rd if this is anything serious. But i doubt it. This idea is all in good fun, and will never happen

Will Middlebrooks looked a little worried after the Red Sox beat the Mariners 2-1 in 10 innings on Sunday. He injured his left hamstring while stealing second base, and the team should have a better understanding of how long Middlebrooks may be out or whether he has a tear.

The Sox would have to use a Nick Punto/Brent Lillibridge combination at third. The team recently signed Andy LaRoche to a minor league deal, but the Sox have a 40-man roster problem, which means they'd have to cut a good player to make room for LaRoche on the roster.Boston Globe

If God forbid it is long term, call up Iggy and move Aviles to third! Hate losing WMB's bat especially with the Yanks coming up!:(

You had to know this would happen.

I'm not usually one to blame medical staffs... but is there ONE ****ING PLAYER on the Red Sox who hasn't been on the DL over the last two years?

Doesn't the medical staff get involved only AFTER an injury? Prior to that it'd be the training staff, an area that was revamped during this past offseason.

I personally think the medical staff has been very poor but it had to do a great deal more with their misdiagnoses that resulted in delayed returns to action if not a complete loss. Schilling, Lowell, and Ellsbury stand out in my mind as the most prominent examples.
