View Full Version : Why is no one after Spencer Hawes?

Did I miss him signing an extension with Philly? With Roy Hibbert getting a max offer and even Omer Asik getting big money, why isn't anyone offering Hawes something in the range of $10M/yr?

He started the season extremely well and could get a lot of the credit for the Sixers early success. When he went down their dynamic changed drastically. I know he struggled some when he came back from injury, but there's nothing to suggest he's injury prone, is there?

Hell get his. They just need to wait for the Hibberts and Asiks to sign so that a price range can be set.

He's probably plan c or d for the small number of teams that are looking for a starting C. He'll get signed after the big names are off the market.

Because he sucks.

He made me miss Sammy Dalembert.....

Softest C in the league, terribly slow, poor rebounder, inconsistent shot, no post moves, slow footed, can't block shots.

His best asset is his passing, obviously the most important skill for a C.

GM's a leery of fluky contract year seasons that were backed with 4 years of subpar play.

Basically this.

It seemed like, especially towards the end of the year, he would get absolutely dominated by any semi-athletic big. Garnett killed him.

Because he's as soft as Pau Gasol and not as talented.

all he does is shoot 20 feet jump shots and runs away from the basket when its time to get a rebound

Bingo, Lavoy Allen easily out played him and his value plummeted in the Boston series as he looked like a WNBA player out there...

This a thousand times. Some other team offering him $10m so that we can't match it would probably be the highlight of my offseason.
