According to Dave McMenamin of ESPN Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Lakers are expected to pursue Magic point guard Jameer Nelson in free agency.
The Lakers’ first priority remains Ramon Sessions, who is also a free agent.
McMenamin says the Lakers “are targeting a handful of veteran point guards including Chauncey Billups, Jameer Nelson and Kirk Hinrich, the source said.”
Our own Brian Serra confirmed this report.
Nelson, who has spent his entire eight year career with the Magic, averaged 11.9 points, 5.7 assists and 2.9 rebounds per game for the Magic last season..

Don't really care. I guess I would still prefer Sessions.. Nelson is hardly an upgrade if an upgrade at all.

better spot up shooter, and scorer in general. it's a wash on defense.

but i feel like nelson can be fisher 2.0 if ya feel me.

Why? Sessions showed he is the perfect fit for that team. Nelson is not a sure fire upgrade over Sessions either. I don't understand this move.

this is a pretty good fit. Nelson doesn't really need the ball in his hands to be effective, which works perfectly with Kobe.

Sessions can't control the pace of the game which is one of our main priorities

How are the Lakers going to sign him? Mini mid level?

^ agree, how are we gonna sign him?

its just more BS to get his price to return to orlando up...

people are fundamentally sheep... most of these FA's have already decided where they are playing...

the only thing the RFA's are doing right now are finding teams stupid enough to overpay them so they can get the contract they want from their current teams...

it's a joke

Every free agent uses the name of the Lakers in vain for leverage.

They don't run the triangle anymore, and Nelson is a horrible post feeder.

Jameer can't either.

The Blazers should try to get him to bring him off the bench though.
