I dont think they do.
Kaman made 14 mil last year.
No way do i think he signs for 3 mil when there should be better offers on the table.

Of course they do. They're the defending champs and have the best shot at repeating. I'm sure Kaman would love a shot at a ring.

I think Kaman could still get a few years at 8-10 million. I dont think he will turn that down. Maybe after this contract he will look to get on a team that can get him a title.

He's made good money throughout his career, maybe he doesn't need a huge paycheck and it's worth it to him to fill a huge hole in the roster of the favorite to win the championship. He's coming off 2 seasons full of injury anyway, it might be smart for him to take a 1 year deal to prove he can still play so he can get a bigger contract the next offseason.

I think if the Hornets were smart they'd offer him an extension. They desperately need a center after giving away Okafor, and with how thin their roster is, they cannot let two legit centers walk away for nothing in return.

I mean, the center is the hardest position to fill in the NBA, and the Hornets had two centers that most teams would take in a heart beat. Letting them walk for nothing is not good business sense.

Riley is going after K-Mart, Kaman, Allen

k mart is a better option. kaman would be nice but you are right he will get overpaid, for some reason.

what is the story with eddy curry? will he be ready to go next season?

the Heat have as much of a chance to get Kaman as my toe has a chance of turning into Shaq and telling my big toe "Whats goin on Big Fella?"

I agree and surely the Hornets can offer more than 3 mil per year and for more than 3 years like the heat.

If Kaman wants closer to his 2011-2012 salary , the hornet could not offer a extension, but then neither can the heat.

I doubt Curry will be back.

Unless he takes the 3 mill a yr exception doubt the HEAT would kick the tires any further. (refering to Kaman)

That 3 mill exception will probably go to Allen anyway IF he accepts to play for the HEAT.

More realistically, Heat should go after Camby/G. Hill.

It's up to him really.

I don't know what he's thinking. I'd imagine he'd take a bit more money. He's not THAT old yet. But who knows.

I think it's considerably less than probable.

I have a feeling Detroit may be in play on Kaman. Maybe depends on how fast they think Drummond will be ready.

AMnesty Perkins. Pick up Kaman or Brook Lopez. Watch out now

I don't see him signing in Miami. He doesn't look like someone eager to get a ring.

One does not simply "pick up" an restricted Free Agent, especially one whose salary will higher than Perkins''

If the heat offer him the mini-mle, I think he could possibly sign there. Honestly, he will not get more than 4-5 million anyway.

For the mini mle after coming off of a dbl digit contract?

Do you know anything about the nba? Chris Kaman is still in his prime and could command a deal of 7 million or more

absolutly none if they sign RAy allen ( who would be there one MLE)

if no ray allen though there is a chance, but he would have to sign for MLE.

If we are talking about Kaman, you are horribly wrong, he is coming off of a 12 million contract, and can easily get 7-9 on the open market, him being a C means a lot too, and his stats aren't really bad either

We say that every offseason about some player and they always end up going for the money. Trust me, Kaman will end up going for his last big contract, especially at a time where a quality center like him is hard to find.

The difference is they had cap space then, so it was a possibility. There is no chance Miami gets Kaman when he can get three times the money the Heat can offer somewhere else. Money talks.

to some players it sure does, and kaman is the kind of guy it talks too...he didnt want a buyout from NO because he wanted to retain bird rights...

Do you even know what you are talking about? Kaman pretty much hates everything to do with NO and oak was massively over-paid. So how is that bad business sense not wanting to pay oak his money or wanting to resign an injury prone kaman to a big contract? We are rebuilding we don't need to rush and try to find a legit C to compete right now. We have money to sign howard next year  lol. We will get someone when we get them, but kaman and oak are not the guys.
