View Full Version : If you're LAC, would you give up BG for DH12?

Technically, to make the salaries work, LAC would probably have to give up something like:

1. Blake/DeAndre
2. Blake/Caron/Ryan Gomes
3. Blake/(sign and trade Mo Will)

My argument for the Clips doing this is that if they trade for DH12, CP3 will almost definitely reup with the Clips and you have arguably the best point and best center on the same team.

question is how could you not?

I would do Blake and Jordan for Dwight in a heartbeat.

CP3 and Dwight

Blake Griffin for a 5 month rental of Dwight Howard, a dwight that is coming off an injured back.

NO.

He'd have to sign the extension to even consider it.

I dunno... I don't think I would trade Blake. He's got a much better offensive game, and the Clippers already have a center that can defend (though obviously Howard is better than D-Jordan). Plus Blake doesn't cost as much money right now because he's still under his rookie contract, where as Dwight would be earning the max.

I think the Clippers would be better off keeping BG.

OBVIOUSLY everyone knows it's contingent on Dwight signing an extension.

And obviously the Clippers have no issue making this deal.

Well it'd be Blake + DJ I'm guessing. Have to remember that Orlando might want to drop a bad contract on the Clips too.

Either way, CP3 + D12 alone take up $38 mill. Add in Caron's 8, that's $46 mill. Gomes is making $4 mill, and Mo will probably opt in to take his 8.5 mill, Bledsoe is at 1.7. That adds up to around 60 mill for Howard, Cp3, Butler, Mo, Bledsoe, and Gomes.

Question is, how much is Sterling willing to spend? Blake + DJ are cheaper options right now.

If the Clips get Howard, then they're limited on spending and they still have a ton of holes to fill. They won't have any chips to trade outside of Bledsoe, and maybe Mo as an expiring.

A lot depends on Sterling... who isn't someone I'd place confidence in. Would he use the amnesty on Butler?

If I am certain that both Howard and Paul are going to sign extensions I say yes.

Cp3 & Howard... A dream come true.

But Clippers should try to play hard ball...

Lmao, give up my star power forward who has averaged 20/10 since his rookie year and keeps getting better for dwight Howard who has less of a post game, pretty much has peaked at this point, and has a back injury?

Why would anyone do this trade? Lmfao, nice do you know how the lat rookie to average 20/10 is? TIM DUNCAN

Ain't no way I'm trading him for Howard

Amnesty Caron, try to sign some young shooters that defend i.e. Courtney Lee or Danny Green - which is what CP3 is successful at maximizing. DH12>Tyson. Courtney Lee/Danny Green > Marco Bellinelli. They just need a 4 that can shoot a little bit.

Why would the clippers gut their team for Howard?

Have you not heard cp3's comments after he playoffs about how he Loves playing with Blake?

Really? I is this thread serious? Ur gunna gut your team for their 2 best young players, for Howard and cp3 hasn't even signed an extension?

Are you insane?

Lmaooo, this cannot be a serious question, this had to be a joke, but the last thing cp3 wants is for this team to trade its star player for Howard. There is enough uncertainty in the organization ad is with the gm situation. And now you wanna gut your team for center with a back injury?

Do people think before they post anymore?

I wasn't really talking about the trade with DJ and blake, rather if i would trade blake for dwight.

If he is old dwight, i dont see how we couldn't. I would leave the decision up to CP3 and roll with that.
