View Full Version : 5th Annual PSD Player Rankings #5 PG In The NBA? (Volume: V)

Mile High Champ

Hey guys, Some of you may remember that for the last four years I have conducted a poll at the end of the season that had PSD users vote for the top 10 players at each position. The season is now over and the Heat have been crowned NBA champs which means its time to kick off the off-season player rankings.

A lot has changed since last season. Lebron was labelled by some as Choke Artist in the clutch and now this year had one of the greatest finals performances in recent memory. Let start the discussion since lots has changed since the start of last season. Please TRY AND VOTE FOR THE BEST PLAYER AND DON'T BE A HOMER. I will leave the poll open for one day and than we can carry on to the next best player at that position. I will add more players after each round. I have also included the results of those last 4 years so everyone can see how much things have changed...Enjoy.

REMEMBER this is based on who is the best player, not the player who has the potential to be the best

Rondo

he should be third, then Williams and then Westbrook IMO

Added more options to the poll. That being said; give me Parker here once again.

Deron's play over the past 2 years should remove him from top 5, but whatever. Going Parker again, and Rondo is getting shafted in general.

I honestly like both Parker and Rondo better than Westbrook and Williams, but I think that may just be a bias in the type of players I enjoy the most at the point guard position. It also seems weird to see Rose at #2 despite playing slightly less than half the season last year, but I have no real gripes with that because when he does play he certainly is an elite player.

I'm a little surprised to hear you say that..

But can we PLEASE get TP off the board so i can start voting for Rondo??

Well that is PSD for you. I typically only get involved in conversations regarding Rondo with his ridiculously biased fans, so I am viewed as a Rondo hater. I think he is a great PG, but has obvious limitations that allow clear seperation from the tier 1 guys, but having Deron Williams over him after the last 2 seasons is not right at all.

Rajon rondo should be number 2!

and what is it about the Spurs and their players getting underrated every year? Its not just PSD i've noticed.

Chronz voted Rondo here.. :speechless:

Please enlighten me, Chronz - why you got him over TP?

Chronz
06-28-2012, 12:56 PM
Quite simply, TP has made a career of letting me down in the playoffs, Rondo actually outdid himself. Part of me wants to chalk it up as a fluke (a result of his uncharacteristically strong jumper), but a bigger part of me is convinced TP simply isnt capable of raising his game in the playoffs anymore. Least not the way Rondo did.

TP's regular season dominance makes it tight, dont really care who wins here, I would rather not have Deron this high tho.

Still very tough between Parker and Rondo here for me. Gave Rondo the nod for his hot finish but someone giving Parker the nod for a more productive season overall is just as right.

I'm gonna withhold my vote for Rondo. Maybe someone will be able to sway it with a convincing post.

I can't not vote for Parker after the year he just had. Rondo's good and there are still facets of his game that are too suspect for me to vote for him.

You still have to play the reg season to get to the playoffs, and the gap between Parker and Rondo is more significant in the reg season than the one in the playoffs. Plus he did this while being the #1 option for a majority of the season.

this is how i feel as well. i think it sucks that TP finished 5th in regular season MVP voting, yet isn't finishing top five in our PG voting. but i still think rondo is the better distributor, and the better two way player.

fail.

i asked celtic fans to rate ray allen's overrall game.
aspects were divided into offensive awareness, rebounding, defense, buyin into team defense.

nothin to do with whether he is any good at shooting 3's.

making up things kinda shows how desperate you are.

thoughts?

It's unbelievable how a player can get overlooked because they play for a bad team. Deron Williams has been playing really well the past 2 years. I guess that's what happens when they are not on TV and don't make the playoffs.
