The Los Angeles Clippers have engaged in trade discussions to bring Lamar Odom back to the L.A. team that drafted him, according to sources close to the situation.

Yet the deal, sources said, could hinge on the willingness of a third team to take on the contract of Clippers veteran guard Mo Williams, which would allow the Dallas Mavericks to send Odom to the Clippers with no significant money coming back to the Mavericks.

Sources told ESPN.com on Tuesday that one team to express interest in Williams is the Los Angeles Lakers, who still have a trade exception big enough to absorb Williams' contract that they created when they dealt Odom to Dallas.

Would be a great deal.

In the meantime it looks like the trade is getting close as Odom just updated his "Official" Facebook page a few hours ago to show the day he became a Clipper.

Better than Steve Blake.

Can they still re-sign Sessions or no need for him?

Can they still re-sign Sessions or no need for him?

Sessions wants more than the $4.5 Million he was due.

So the Lakers would have ended up trading Lamar Odom for Mo Williams and a 1st?

I think he just wants the yrs, but if he does want $4.5M, then good riddance.

This actually does make sense for all sides. Bledsoe looks legit, and he's cheaper than Mo.

I wanted Odom back.. :sigh:

Mo is not a bad option either though.. at least not for what we have right now.

Unless we get a first round pick from dumbass Cuban's 17th pick, then no deal. Why the hell would we not shed contracts of our own (Blake, McBob, MWP), add more to our already hellish payroll, and not even get a pick out of it.

NO DEAL!

Makes no sense just re-up Sessions

Seems like a pretty good trade for everyone. The Mavericks get rid of a virus, the Clippers get their golden boy back, and the Lakers get an upgrade over Sessions and Blake at PG.

Speaking for the Celtics: I have no faith that our team will contend next year so I'd eat his salary cap if we got a pick out of it.

You want a passing PG on the Lakers?

When will he have time to have the ball. Kobe would never settle to be a Ray Allen/Hamilton type scorer

They should just convert Kobe to PG

Makes no sense just re-up Sessions

It actually makes a lot of sense because it saves the Lakers cap room. They have a trade exception that they would use to take on Mo Williams and Williams only has 1 year left on his deal so it gives them cap space next off seasoon when Chris Paul becomes a free agent. If they pay Sessions he would be a huge cap hit for at very least the next 4 or 5 years (which means no shot at Chris Paul).
