Put this in the NBA forum because it seem to be the most active.
What are the top ten worst current contracts in all of sports. mine are
1. Jamarcus Russel (may be wrong but think the Raiders still owe him money)
2. Vernon Wells
3. Alex Rodriguez
4. Alfonso Soriano
5. Joe Johnson
6. tyrus Thomas
7. Alex Rios
8. Kobe Bryant
9. Amare s
10. Heath Bell

Andris Biedrins has to be on there. He gets 9 mill to be a backup Center, and he might not even be our backup next season.

Kobe Doesn't Belong On That List. Just One More year at $27M (2013), Before Becoming a Massive $30.4M Expiring Contract in 2014. Lakers Will let him Expire With $30M Off the Books, (Along Gasol), They Will Most Likely Sign Kobe at A Discount, and Become Serious FA Players. If Lakers choose to Trade Kobe (Unlikely), His $30.4M Expiring Contract Will Net Them A HEFTY package.

Bosh - makes the same as LeBron

Wade - His body won't hold up to finish out his contract

Rashard Lewis - Even though it's expiring after one more year

Turkoglu - Horrible

Bosh and Wade make less than maximums and helped the team deliver a championship so shouldn't really qualify.

Lewis and Hedo absolutely no value for money there.

For the OP, i wouldn't have Kobe on there as he has delivered and performed consistently and put his body on the line so even though the amount is ridiculously high, it has been worth it so far.

Joe Johnson is still very productive. It's not a bad contract until he declines, which is what people is already waiting for. Hasn't happened, so like the other "bad contracts" of players that suck right now, he doesn't belong, yet.

Ben Wallace's signing with Chicago. One of the worst free-agent signings of all time.

Thierry Henry for $5 million per season on the Red Bulls. The entire MLS league brings in ~$25 million in television revenue (as compared to the NBA's ~$1 billion). Henry is king of the impoverished sport.

My TOP 5 OVERPAID NBA PLAYERS!!!
1) Joe **ckn Johnson (definitely not worth that 120mil)
2) Rashard **ckn Lewis (Otis Smith was on crack giving this dude that kinda cheddar)
3) Gilbert Arenas (gun-lovin' bum, who got max money, but not max player)
4) Amare - (stunk it up this year, and cannot get double rebounds consistently. 100mill?? c'mon
5) Andy Verajaou ? - dude got serious $$ from Cleveland..but sucks on defense. Ask D-Wade who posterized him a while back. Dude is a bum

Ya, no1 is goin to pay 20 mill for a guy that shot 37% in the play offs. His contract is one of the worst in the league.

Kobe is actually one of the only NBA players who actually earns his money.
Reshard Lewis has the worst contract in all of sports.
Honourable mention to Vernon Wells.
He seriously looks like he doesn't try hard at all.

Why is Kobe on the ops list? He deserves the massive contract because if he wasn't on the team the lakers wouldn't have the richest tv deal. Kobe makes the lakers way more money than they pay him

All of you are right, But dude who said Bosh & Wade

You can think that Bosh and Wade have good contracts if you want to, just because they won a title.
Remove Wade from the lineup and they most likey still win it.
Remove Bosh and it's less likely but still possible.
Remove LeBron and they are a first round exit team.

Wade is at the beginning of a very sharp decline in his career. Once knee and leg problems pop up they usually don't go away. He missed over 25% of the games this season. If you think his body will hold up for four more seasons as a max player that's your right. IMO Miami will be trying to move him before two more seasons are up with very few teams interested.

Bosh is a good complimentary player to LeBron, but he's not worth what he's being paid. He didn't rank in the top 20 in any statistical category this season. He also has 4 more years at max salary. Do you think he deserves to be making the same money as LeBron?

You could take LeBron and insert him into most rosters (excluding the Bobcats) and have instant playoff and in most cases title contending teams. Add Lebron to Sacramento for example. They won 22 games this season. Team LeBron with Cousins, Tyreke, and Isiah and they would have challenged for a title.

Wade and Bosh having the contracts they do will limit what Miami can do over the next 4 years. They are almost automatically in the luxury tax area just from the three max contracts (a combined 65.88 mil in 15-16).

I used to like Josh, and was disappointed when he left the Hawks to go overseas.
I expected him to do well when he came back.
Guess I was wrong.
