Guess he couldn't fly under the radar.

Per espn. Exact wording is performance enhancing substance.

Marlon Byrd suspended 50 games. Tested + for tamoxifen, an estrogen blocker, not a PED. Dopers use it to mitigate steriod side-effects.

i always wondered how a guy so big could not hit for power. He wasn't too bad of a player but why at this stage of his career.

uhhh...he is a professional athlete making MILLIONS of dollars...I would say he is good. He gets to play a kids game and live in luxury doing it. Anyone who gets that honor is good or ****ing the boss.

A little. You'd think if he was taking PEDs, he'd be okay. Guy was horrible this year.

He was working with Victor Conte which makes none of this surprising.

Except that it sounds like he just started taking them (never had any issues in the past with this) and it's during the worst season of his career.

There were always rumors about steroids with him dating back to his days in texas, so I can't say I'm shocked to read this

It just amazes me how dumb some athletes are. If you are going to cheat, at least take something that isn't detectable.

He gained 30-40 pounds after he left the Phillies, there were always strong rumors about him being a roider and a lot of other Rangers like Carlos Pena.

he should appeal, im sure who ever was running the test probably labeled it wrong and stashed it in the fridge over the weekend.

Outfielder Marlon Byrd, who admitted to working with the man whose center triggered a federal investigation of steroids use and distribution among athletes, has tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs.

The league announced on Monday that the free agent has received a 50-game suspension after testing positive for Tamoxifen. He will be put on the restricted list and will remain there until Aug. 20.

Tamoxifen -- its brand name in the United States is Nolvadex -- is a medicine that blocks the effects of the estrogen hormone in the body. It is used to treat breast cancer in women or men and is used by steroid users to prevent the growth of breast tissues in men and to stop post-cycle crashes.

I dont know if this was posted or not.

Except the guy that took Braun's sample home with him didn't actually put it in the refrigerator.

If you're going to try to be funny at least use accurate information.
