Wow.. Ford is talking bout maybe not even going first round, there were reports of him going number 1 last year, crazy

Video here http://espn.go.com/nba/draft2012/story/_/id/8094012/2012-nba-draft-former-ohio-state-bucketes-star-jared-sullinger-not-invited-draft

Former Ohio State star and two-time all-American Jared Sullinger will watch the NBA draft inside a Columbus restaurant, not in the green room in Newark's Prudential Center, after the NBA declined to invite him to Thursday's draft.
NBA executive vice president Stu Jackson told ESPN.com that Sullinger would not be invited based on the reports the league had received that Sullinger wouldn't be selected in the top 15.

"He's more likely to go in the teens or in the 20s," Jackson said. "We continue to have contact with teams, but at this late date we don't anticipate inviting him."

ESPN.com's Chad Ford reported last week that Sullinger's medical reports were flagged by a number of teams after the Chicago predraft camp because of a back issue. But Satch Sullinger, Jared's father and high school coach in Columbus, refuted it, saying that his son had muscle issues and not a disk problem. Sullinger dealt with back spasms last December, forcing him to miss a road game at Kansas, but he was well enough to lead the Buckeyes to the Final Four.

Satch Sullinger said Monday that the family isn't anticipating an invitation and will host a party at a Columbus restaurant instead.

"We haven't been invited, so we're not going to go," he said.

I think it's better for Sullinger this way.

He could be a really good late round pick if this motivates him to put in the work.

Actually, he seems like a perfect fit for the Celtics. Seems like the type of player they'd go for in the late round.

He'll be drafted higher than expected.

When this happened to DeJuan Blair, he dropped from early teens to the second round.

Someone is going to get a solid player later in the first round. My money would be on the C's getting him.

Don't see why a lot of you are so ready for your team to draft him or even move up to get him. I mean there's a reason why he's dropped like this and isn't even being invited to the draft. Will you be happy when your team drafts him between say 18-26 and he hardly even plays the next number of years? When you could have drafted someone else who will actually see the court.

Sure 2nd round you could take a flyer on him, but if I'm picking later in the 1st round and that's my only 1st round pick, I'm looking elsewhere.

Sully has alot of the same knocks K Love had... Height, athleticism, body type.... He has alot of the same skills too! Scoring ability, rebounding ability, girth in the paint, feel for the game!

No way SUlly would dropped out of top 7 last year! No way, prolly top 3 or 5!

SOme say he is reminiscent of dajuan blair..... Even still that'd be good value after 20 pix.

Not to mention he has a great desire, and love for basketball and now he will have extra motivation... Somebody's gonna get a great pick!

maybe if billy wants to redeem himself, it might behoove him to attempt to buy a late pick.

Dujan Blair says hi

Really? So you came to the conclusion that their situations are that similar? Blair has no ACL, and Sullinger has back problems. Nobody knew how Blair would hold up without ACL's. Back problems are commonly bad in every sport... There's a reason he is dropping.

Exactly what I thought when I read it, they'll be more likely to take a risk on an injury with two first rounders.

The kid can ball plain and simple. If he can stay healthy he will be either a solid guy or a stud in the NBA. What ever team get's him will be extremely lucky.

I think Boston will draft him. I don't think Garnet will go back to Boston though, I think Rondo could really make the best of Sullinger. If the Celtics can get Asik, and re-sign Green, they could have a nice young squad.

I'll be suprise if Sullinger fall out of the top 15. Sullinger will be draft before the draft hit that 20 pick. Sullinger is not very athletic and he said it himself. He is overweight and he needs to lose some weight and get back into shape.

He dont deserve to be in the Green Room

Why do you think this?

So is Chicago & Oklahoma City, they don't want guaranteed contracts. I've heard that all those teams are interested in trading with the Warriors for the 35th pick & the 52nd pick. And to everyone who thinks the Spurs are getting him, the Warriors own the Spurs 1st round pick.

Some lucky playoff team is going to get a bench big who will be able to feast on 2nd units.

hopefully this will motivate him to be a better player and punish those teams that passed up on him.

This is a case of a kid doing the "right" thing staying in school, but because he stayed in school, got exposed for another year and yeah... bad for him (his draft status), but you really can't blame him for staying in school.
