"This is something special here," Harden said. "A dynasty is being built here. So we're winning, we're having fun and we're brothers. The other stuff, you can't buy it."

"This team is like a family," Harden said. "Like, we're really brothers. We hang out most of the time every single day. You won't find any other team like this. I love it here."

James Harden said Saturday that he "loves it" with the Thunder and expects a contract extension to be worked out between his agent and Oklahoma City general manager Sam Presti.

"They'll do a pretty good job of working it out," Harden said. "I'm focused on several other things right now. But when the time is (right), they'll figure it out and it'll be done."

You would think they won this year championship by the way he speak

Well, of course he wants to stay there. OKC has a GREAT thing going for them.

It's gonna come down to $$$$$. Most young players don't care about anything but the $$$...and neither should Harden.

Lol, what?

Wasn't everyone hailing the Heat a dynasty the second they joined?

As he should....OKC should do what they can to try to keep that core together. They're going to be great for years to come.

I hope they keep harden, ibaka, I do not care much compared to harden. I would love to rid of perkins and ibaka as a package and maneuver some moves that can get you Brook Lopez and a solid PF

based on my understanding of the new CBA, they already used their 5year extension on westrook, wouldnt that mean they can only give harden a 4yr extension?

I don't think this Super team can actually stay together ...

Gonna copy some of the Heat fans when it comes to FAs here but if he wants to stay and build with OKC he's gonna need to resign with them...

lol, not sure he has a choice after that finals showing by him. 4yr 46mil seems fair to me or 5 yr 57 mil if he gets a 5th year

Would be cool if they kept their core together. They have a great thing going but I don't see it happening barring a Perkins amnesty. Then again I have a very little knowledge of the new CBA.

Everyone is over rating this guy. He's good but come on max player for a guy who's never even started? What dumb team would throw the max at him? If they work out an extension before he becomes a RFA okc would be good. He's not a superstar lets relax guys.

I was hoping he would go elsewhere because I think he has a point about the Dynasty. Miami will be contending for years but Wade is relatively old, their window is about 3 years IMO, but if OKC retains their big4 there window is ridiculously long.

I would seriously consider a Harden for the number 2 pick, cap reasons only

So now that the heat won and they won't shut up about it, then they wonder why nobody likes them.
U mad u mad u mad Naw me and my 16 championship team ain't mad, even if LeBron was right about yall winning 6 that's not even half of ours, and the funniest thing is 80 percent of the heat fans aren't heat fans their LeBron fans and thats not a true fan, over there claiming they been heat fans they whole life when they were reppin the Cavs 3 year's ago.
I ain't calling nobody out specifically but they know who they are.

Didn't see this coming at all, but respect to James for wanting to win more than being a #1 option elsewhere.

Can anyone really hate on this decision?

Exactly, hopefully no team makes the mistake and gives him a max deal.

Close, but he also left behind a city that really depended on him. Don't think Harden himself is really helping the OKC economy. They rebuilt parts of the city around the stadium because of the success a.k.a business Lebron brought to Cleveland.

I don't blame Lebron for wanting to win in Miami, what a great city to live out your prime in. But I honestly think he was capable of winning a chip in Cleveland. They had great chemistry there, and being able to bring a championship to your hometown that desperately needs one would have been something special.

Also, I didn't catch Harden's announcement special on ESPN? Did you?

Nope he's still getting a max deal.

Is he worth a max deal? Hell no

Will a team offer him a max deal? 70% chance depending on how many teams will bid for him and most probably many teams will

Harden's just letting OKC know if they want to keep him they better think about how they gonna pay him. There will be numerous teams after him despite the dismal performance in the finals. You can bet your sweet *** on that.

I think they re-sign Harden, let Ibaka walk and give Collison half the money that Serge would have gotten. He was the real unsung hero for that team

06-24-2012, 10:48 PM
I read in an article that Harden would be willing to take less money to keep the core together, and that the Thunder are already talking to his agent about possible extension. Whether or not that truly happens or not obviously we won't see till later.

But, we can say that if OKC is willing to offer him a solid offer maybe $9-11 mill a year, that he'll prob. take it. Only team that could trade for Harden are not very good, I'm sure he realizes that if he goes somewhere else he ain't winning like he is now. Best thing OKC can do is extend both Harden and Ibaka so they can offer them less than the max, best possible way to keep them both.

Harden and Ibaka are overrated watching each playoff game. They played horrible these playoffs

Durant and Westbrook will be the only stars on this team for a long time.

Ibaka went from a 12 million a year to 8 at most

Harden went from 16 million a year to 11 at most

They both are going to lose value, so I am sure they will try to get the extension quick

if harden and ibaka are really committed to staying, they have to take a discount. and if they do, i'll love OKC even more.
