Could you imagine the backlash if that was Miami's first home game?
I hope Stern doesn't do it...

oh yeah they have a great future and Irving is going to be amazing.

I don't think the backlash would be as bad as you think...

But the NBA wouldn't ever do this either way.

yeh but this would be on Miami's homecourt, and it wouldn't be necessarily aimed at the fanbase. It'd probably be aimed at Cleveland's management.

If Cleveland can get on Miami's level one day and become a worthy EC adversary like Chicago, look out...

i would love for that to happen
and they'd have to be better than Chicago to be a worthy adversary

i believe 3/4 of Clevland will rout for lebron. infact at the first Heat home game they should have the entire Cavilers organization watch as Lebron put up the Banner

It would be hilarious, but I'd prefer it be against a team I hate. They got blown out by the Bulls in the last ring ceremony, so it would be nice to have that corrected this time around.

Who cares! As a Cavs fan it wouldn't be offensive at all. It's Just another game. 1 of the 4 they play against Miami. #nonissue

I'm sure Gilbert could care less. It's not like he would attend the game in Miami. He just wouldn't watch the awards ceremony.

Yeah I really dont think it's an issue at all. If I were an OKC fan I would be more reactive to it.

All Dan Gilbert cares about is money. As that game would be a sell out...

I hope they make it against the Lakers so Lebron can raise his banner in front of Kobe and take the name as the best player in the NBA

I think there would only be a backlash if the were playing in Cleveland and picking up their rings the same night. But that won't happen because they always give the rings out at home.
