Never gonna give baseball up. Never gonna let baseball down. Never gonna run around the bases and desert baseball.

Its time for him to either take a position as a middle reliever/long guy or retire. I would be going to the Blue Jays and see if they want another arm if I were Jamie.

When they need him as a set-up man in the 8th, is it a call to the retirement home?

I hope he gets another shot, you have give the guy credit for persevering at 49 years old after Tommy John surgery.

He wasn't REALLY released. The contract he signed with the Orioles allowed him to opt out after 3 minor league starts if he wasn't called up to the big leagues. He told the O's to release him.

I don't think he allowed a run, and had 16 strikeouts and 0 walks. Could be wrong.

Don't hate on the guy for refusing to give up baseball.

He's been doing this for longer than most of the posters on here have been alive.

I imagine it must be impossible for him to let go, especially when he's still a decent pitcher.

he can contribute somewhere. Hell id take him over Blanton right now.

That's what I was thinking. Either reliever or retire.

I'll take him on the Mets as long as he's willing to come out of the pen.

To those telling him to retire.. Shaddup. As long as he's able and a team will have him, he can do whatever the hell he wants.

Gotta love sports fans who love to tell athletes what they should do with their lives.

Here is how he fared in 3 starts with the O's AAA affiliate:

Not bad at all.

He could easily be a reliever.

1.69 ERA
9 K/9
0BB
0.69 WHIP

in 16 innings in AAA? That's not bad at all.

There is no reason he should have to retire. I can't imagine someone cannot find room for a decent reliever. If he doesn't want to do that, then yes, this seems to be the end of the line.
