View Full Version : Which player deserves to be next in like for "ring less" criticism?

NYG 2000
06-22-2012, 11:13 PM
Dwight?carmelo? They are both considered to be star players, 1 went to the finals once, and lost, and while the other has only surpassed the first round once, and who deserves more criticism out of the two?

And please don't make up excuses for why carmelo hasn't won a ring, and how the knocks haven't had full training camp and all those other trolling excuses you guys come up with the and deal with the facts at hand.

Also, can someone Make a poll please, thanks

I don't think there is any player in the league that will deserve any "ringless" criticism for the foreseeable future because no other player carried anywhere near the hype Lebron did and no player drew anywhere near the attention and hate Lebron did when he "took his talents" to South Beach. People will expect Durant to win, they will expect Rose and the Bulls to win with having such a great record in the regular season, and also Howard, Melo, CP3, etc..but if they don't, they won't be criticized, just go down in history as another Malone, Stockton, Barkley, etc.

if a star doesnt win one by their 7th year then the pressure starts to build imo.

durant needs to win one within the next 3 years imo.
rose needs to win one by the end of his career, unless he gets another star, then the pressure would be greater
melo and amare better win one but i dont think they will
cp3 needs to win one within the next 3 years
lebron needs to win at least 3 more before his career is over
dwight is a *****

I think we need to look at Nash. Has done everything but won a Championship.

He will come to miami next year of he wants a ring,

he only has 2 options in my mind, try to win a ring next year or not try to win a ring.

if he wants a ring he should go to miami
if he doesnt want a ring he should play in toronto and get paid

Oh don't get me wrong. I love watching Nash, the only thing that he has against him is the lack of ring. He wants one and he will put himself in a position to get one.

He doesn't care if he ever gets one. I've heard interviews before and he said he's going for it but if he never wins one he doesn't care. He said he's just fortunate to have had such a great career and if he doesn't win one he said, "so what, who cares"

not a single player in the league deserves the critism that lebron got, lebron's bigest problem was and still is his ego, he acts like he is the best, even though he hasnt until now won anything worth speaking of. no other player in the nba does that.

Howard doesn't deserve a ring imo, he's holding Orlando in limbo and keeps going back and forth in his decision.

Well Orlando should just trade him. Thats on them for letting him hold them in limbo. They need to make a decision on him and stick with it, not matters what he says. Really and truly, they are not going to win a championship unless they can somehow get a legitimate scorer around him and even then still wouldnt win one because his heart is in Brooklyn now. He doesnt care about no ring. He just wants to see his smile on billboards, them big endorsements, and still be the main face of a franchise.

as far as im concerned, lebron's ring doesn't even count. the minute he teamed up with wade and bosh, any rings he got with them became illegitimate.

so my answer, lebron

What

So by your logic .... Magic rings don't count because he said if the bulls had the 1st pick, he would have stayed in school.

Two of Kobe rings don't count because they got Gasol on a cheat trade... They didn't give up enough for him.

I can go on and one with the stupidity.

The Dream rings don't count because MJ took a break...

WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU!!!!!!!!

Dwight and Durant..

Yanks All Day
06-23-2012, 11:37 AM
The 2 guys who forced, or will force, their ways to the teams they want to play on: Carmelo Anthony and Dwight Howard. If you're causing all this drama to get to a specific team, you better back it up with a ring. Melo has made it out of the 1st round once, so I'm more inclined to say him. But Dwight has a ton of pressure himself if (when) he makes his way to Brooklyn.

Rose and Durant will if a few years go by and they keep coming up just short, but it is still way too early for either of them for that criticism.

justinnum1
06-23-2012, 12:26 PM

So funny the Lebron haters on here. Rings should have shut them up by now -- give the Heatles credit where credit is due.

But are they unbeatable? NO, and even Heat fans will admit this about their top-heavy roaster. Their flaws were not exposed by a young and inexperienced OKC squad, who IMO were better on paper. Just like my Knicks, in order to win one, the moons would have to align... odds are stacked against Lebron and Melo, but not improbable.

Next year the Pacers, Spurs, Thunder, Sixers and Bulls have just as good a chance.
