Exclude the Cavs since LeBron left.

But has there ever been a team that was so dominant then a few season later become really bad? Has there been a bigger downfall than them?

All kinds of team... the Celtics sucked for years after the Bird era ended. Same with the Bulls after Jordan left. The original Bad Boy Pistons fell off the map after they lost to the Bulls. Obviously the Cavs. LA sucked bad for a couple of seasons after the Shaq trade. Things come and go in cycles. Almost everybody has to endure some losing seasons after winning it all. Let's not forget that the Heat missed the playoffs in between Championships.

Heat went from winning a championship to a 15 win season, granted injuries were mostly the reason.

yes. MOST teams when their stars start to age and decline will be crap before rebuilding. with the acception of the spurs of course.
