Who is anyone to say 1 way to build a team is better than another? Trades, FA and drafts all have their hits and misses when it comes to building a team. I'm sure any team, and I mean all teams in the NBA, would take advantage of the opportunity if they saw a way to build a contender.

It's like all the people are like, "I can't possibly empathize with a human being getting angry and saying something that he clearly didn't mean..." and instead, let me hark on this and 'get him' as it were when he was 'proven' wrong.

Maybe Gilbert should respond to this thread the same way James did last year. He can go back to his billionaire life (which owning a basketball team is a small part of) and all of his trolls can go back to their boring lives.

Remember - Gilbert has succeeded more in business, put more people to work, made more money and accomplished more than James could ever hope to do in life. Troll on though.

The best players he gave James were an over the hill Shaq and an older Antwaan Jamison. I mean really, how are you going to keep him in Cleveland when you won't give him anybody else to help out? In my opinion he stayed there too long and showed too much loyalty with the amount of loyalty or lack thereof the front office gave him. In the end, Gilbert looked like a high school girl that just got dumped by their boyfriend....."I hate you LeBron, you were always so mean and I always loved somebody else anyways." Crazy to think that class(less) act is actually the owner of an NBA team

Explain that one to me. He may have been spending money, but it was on terrible players. I mean he had a supporting cast of Delonte West, Old Shaq, Jamison, Mo Williams, Gibson, Varajeo, and Illzauskaus (sp?). Look at those bunch of winners Gilbert put together! Tell me how all of them are doing without LeBron right now. It's crazy to think that LeBron got THAT team to the finals and close to the finals other countless times.

Actually Lebron didn't get that team to the Finals, as most of the players you listed weren't even on the team. ;)

And I didn't say CLE signed great players. I just disputed your point that he didn't put money in the team. That's a very different charge.

CLE didn't do as bad a job as people like to think though. Lebron being so wishy-washy about staying (as opposed to someone like Wade w/ MIA) frced CLE into making short-sighted moves to appease their star. There were many stories of players choosing against CLE in part because they weren't sure Lebron would stay. Combine that w/ the undesirable market CLE is, and they didn't do a bad job. The only real blunder I think they should be called out for was not trading Hickson for Amare.

This is the perfect fit for Lebron, His strengths are to drive and score or kick it out to good 3 point shooters, which clea did at an icreadible efficiancy.

NBA history would have been a lot different IMO had Michael Redd chosen CLE over staying in MIL. CLE would have won a title IMO and that would have made it a lot harder for Lebron to leave.

The Cavs would have at least been title contenders if they weren't so stupid and let Carlos Boozer out of his contract and basically crossed their fingers that nobody else would sign him

While Clea wasn't great they had a few things

* Elite 3 point shooting

Lets look at '08-09 for an example

Not sure Boozer is actually the best it next to Lebron. Pick and roll isn't Lebron's game IMO. Boozer walking would have been a blessing in disguise had they actually later landed Redd w/ that money IMO.

You really have an altered perception on what really happened. It's obvious that your a big Cavs hater. Is it the Cavs fault that Boozer lied and signed a deal with the Jazz? I bet you didn't realize if was Gund who was owner then too.

Their shooters never got hot in the playoffs. That's the story of Lebron's playoff woes, to be honest. Even in MIA, their team is just a bunch of spot up shooters around Lebron. The only difference is they have Wade as a second iso player to take some pressue off. Every team Lebron's been on has tried to surround him w/ shooting. Spot up shooters are streaky by nature.

Again youre making incorrect statements. 90 percent of Cavs fans are looking forward to the draft. Do they like LeBron? Probably not! But they're not making threads about the decision, LeBron, the Heat winning, or Dan Gilbert. It's posters like you who are baiting others into these topics.

Yep, pretty much. Beasted86 has been waiting 2 years to jump on here and post this. I find it funny that he has to inform everyone in his avatar that he's been a Heat fan since the 80's. Just so we don't confuse him with typical bandwagoner heat fan.

Yes, it's all clear now that Dan Gilbert is "the loser" because in a time where all Cleveland fans felt betrayed he had to show up for his team and tell them everything is going to be ok, what an effing loser!

Buddy he gave his congrats via twitter, what else does he want. Lol the funny thing, everyone bashes the guy and yet, at the end of the day, he is a billionaire and owns an NBA team. How many of you can say that?

The guy is running a business, if any of you fools actually knew that instead of trashing someones image then maybe one day you can be successful in life too.

I would hope that you would be waiting for the moment the Heat win another championship. But you're waiting to stick it to Dan Gilbert even though your team conspired to screw his team. I just don't get these Heat fans. It really shows a lot of immaturity. I'm sure there are some decent sports fans in Miami. There should be after all those years of just missing it with Marino. That's the only fan base IMO that should understand heartbreak, and any understanding of what it means to be a fan of an actually team (you have to stick with them even when they suck).

I love how we are acting like The Heat did something amazing lol. Acting like Lebron did a MJ or soemthing and take out the Showtime Lakers for his first. MJ took out Magic, Green, Worthy, Divac, Scott, THompson, and Cooper The Heat struggled to beat some young kids in hipster glasses and backpacks lol Kids so scared of the finals. You say the Thunder played Thunder basketball like they did all season your crazy. And Of you say the league is the same as it was back then you are as well. Yes there is better athletes due to stimulants, vitamins, Sprots science, etc But its a different character and way you carry yourself. Its a look kool on tv first league and flop, compared to what it once was if the league is not suffering in 15 years money wise ill be highly surprised because it is hard to watch. Some the worst officiating and flopping and whining i haver ever seen in a basketball game even like elementary school level. No taking anything away from Lebron he took advantage of a excellent situation. But there is no way Spurs or Mavericks get pushed around like that and show that kind of nerves in a title game. Congrads to the guy but dont get ahead of ourselves. And I hear this dissing of Gilbert I would take The Cavs 3 or 4 years from now with Lebron to the Heat 3 or 4 years from now considering they have no pick sor cap space. There is a way to do things And Legacys are legit in my opinion only way Lebron is up there with Bird, Magic, Mj etc is to do what he says he was gonna do and bring a championship home. Legacy is more then winnign the esiest way you can find its showing character, and loyalty and doing what you say your gonna do. I hope he returns home one day that the bridge isnt burned so he can win one there, and then leave no question as far as his basketball accomplishments. Some of his actions may always be in question, but what he has achieved never will be and he will be up there with the greats.

why would you CHOOSE to root for cleveland teams? masochistic tendencies? Im from Miami and have to put up with everything good (like the Heat.) to the bad (the Dolphins, my god they are the cavaliers of the football world with out the bright future.) but why choose to do this to your self.

and as for "screwing" im pretty sure the Cavs did that to themselve's. crappy drafts, bloated trades, average role players, bad cap situation, no front office or coaching discipline at all and over the top players disguised as help.... just what did the heat do to cleveland?

thats like being a total jerk to your girlfriend and being surpised and feeling "betrayed" when she leaves you for someone who isnt a total moron that actually treats her with respect. is it that surprising to anyone else who wasnt involved in said dysfunctional relationship?

and if that degree of reason doesnt work i guess i can resort to juvenile banter such as "U MAD?"

I dont need to explain to you why I'm a fan of Cleveland sports. Unfortunately, you like most idiots who post on PSD will never understand what a great sports town Cleveland is. Instead you will pass judgement on what other national robots have regurgitated. Having lived in a lot of cities, and countries I find it ridiculous and completely hilarious the storylines that continue to portray C-Town as a dump.
Like any other sports town reasonable fans would have respected LeBrons decision to join another team. I know I would of... Be respective, that's all we ask. Sure the Cavs management made mistakes. Not denying... You're asking what the Heat did? The conspired and cheated, held a special, gloated and bragged and said it would be easy to win 8 rings. And let's just say there fans have made the Heat franchise look awful. What an awful group of fans. There not really fans, they just think they deserve things. Then they like to rub it to a sports town that has to been spurned for so many years. Hence this thread.
