The Hornets traded center Emeka Okafor and Trevor Ariza to the Washington Wizards for forward Rashard Lewis and a 2012 second-round pick, league sources confirmed. If the Hornets had not traded Okafor, the Hornets would have owed him $28 million over the next two seasons. Although Lewis is one of the highest paid players in the league, he has one-year remaining on his contract at that $23.7 million. Okafor missed 39 games last season because of a knee injury. Ariza was benched for the final 10 games last season because Coach Monty Williams said he wanted to evaluate second-year forward Al Farouq Aminu will playing him extended minutes."
Wow. i didnt even know they could do this during the postseason :D

Teams can make trades from the day after their last game of the season, and June 30, under the rules of that season.
