If Miami wins title, who is the pressure on next to win? It could be team or player?

Will it be Dwight, Melo, Durant, Rose, CP3, etc

LeBron. Easily.

If you mean a player who hasn't won anything yet, doesn't it automatically become Durant? Just got to the finals, has a great roster around him, and there was talk of him becoming the best player if they won this series. But all in all, its James until he gets a 2nd ring at least.

its dwight. the storyline will be him being traded/ resigning and what he has done to demand so much and blah blah blah.

the national media is annoying.

Durant. Melo if the Knicks can clean up and get a fresh start next season.

Melo doesnt seem like a guy that wants to win a ring. He dosnt train hard enough in the off season, he doesn't play winning ball

Durant, Dwight or CP3. Most likely Dwight though if he switches teams.

Would imagine it would be LeBron because there is always pressure to defend it, and also with the "not 1, not 2, not 3" people will expect it.

Lebron again to repeat if they win because the Heat will have a better team next year as well.

Its LeBron. Rose gets a buy until he is healthy imo, Durant will have pressure too, people were already saying he is better then LeBron, and giving him Jordan comparisons

The next will be whichever idiot has a "decision special", pre chamionship party, or pormises multiple championships.

Outside of that, I would say OKC. Lebron still will have the pressure because his stupid "not 1, not 2, not 3......" crap.

Durant. Thunder, regardless of the results, will be going into 2012-13 as the most talented team in the entire league from top to bottom. They get Maynor back, not to mention Harden and Ibaka's contract situations are coming up so its the this current roster's current timeframe to win it all.

davids22
06-20-2012, 03:39 PM
It'd have to be either Lebron for his 2nd ring, or Dwight. CP3 is up there though. Idk how long you can be considered the best PG in the league when you constantly can't get past the 2nd round.

If Dwight forces his way to a contender, you better bet he receives the scrutiny that comes with it.

He wasn't saying Melo is as good as those 2...just similar styles on the court as far as isolation

CP3/Melo

Durant is so young and that will be a usable excuse by the media for a while.

Very good question. I don't put Melo or Paul on the same level as Lebron so I won't choose them. I think Howard may be the one.

Deron could play himself into the conversation depending on what he does in free agency though.

Yeah, but Jordan and Kobe could at least make an NBA Finals, let alone win them.

This year Melo will have training camp and the coach that preaches defense, if he cant get there next season he deserves to get alot of backlash. His game does resemble a Jordan and Kobe type, the knicks as a team should be able to compete with the elite this next season...

I would just say the Heat in general. They promised a dynasty. One is a good start, but it is not enough... unless Wade is diagnosed with something serious.

as of right now i think it will ease up on Lebron and intensify for many other players depending on how the offseason goes many people will be critical on where players go this offseason like Nash if he decides to go to the Heat or another contender or Dwight if he goes to a contender but franchises will be both LA teams Chigago NY Spurs Dal and heat for the repeat

Yeah but it eases up quite a bit especially when you win league and finals mvp the same season.

did he not have the same training camp as every other team before the season started? Sound like another excuse.

But, yes ,I do agree the Knicks should be, on talent alone, be able to compete with the elite next yr.

For them to overcome the Elites, aside from health of the team, Melo must elevate his game to play/produce like Jordan/Kobe not just merely resemble their style of play. Especially if Stat doesn't play again like he did before melo came on board.

Definitely Melo. He's good and he's getting older, AND he plays in NYC. The pressure and the spotlight is on him to deliver a championship to NY.

Durant is young, no pressure on him to win for a while, imo.

He hasn't had a training camp or a consistent lineup with the Knicks. That makes a huge difference when you have 2 different coaches and 10 different players.

melo just doesnt improve over the summer, if he did his stats during the year would reflect it, his game doesn't change, he doesnt work on anything, he had his worst shooting year of his career this season.

I am over it Slappy. Whenever players make promises of a dynasty and make themselves the center of attention, they are under pressure to back it up. What part of that is beyond your realm of comprehension?

u do he played through multiple injuries including a messed up wrist right? Also, it is well known that he did not put forth 100% effort for Dantoni...he didn't magically become a better player when Woodson took over, he tried harder and was more comfortable.

If healthy, I can guarantee Melo puts up at least 25-8-4 on 45%+ this upcoming season.

Anyways... I think the pressure is on Melo. All of his peers will have atleast one ring. Wade, LeBron, Bosh...

It seems like Carmelo is the forgotten star outta that draft, and rightfully so... Wade went on to win a title. LeBron became better then everyone ever woulda expected.

The pressure will still be on Miami to repeat somewhat. But the rest of the scrutiny is going to fall to Durant. It always falls to the person who got to the Finals and fell short.

I totally agree, Lebron compared to others held with higher standards.... standards set by others and by what he has set for himself. The next player is Kobe, can he get that infamous 6th ring, third is Howard, he's pretty much *****ed and whined to get a new team, via trade etc..... best center in the league; he needs to win.

BKLYNpigeon

Lebron needs to win 7 rings.

Melo will never win one in NY.
