Sorry coach K, and the Dean you have been excluded.

NBA coaches?

Popovich
Phil Jackson
Pat Riley
Jerry Sloan
Red Auerbach
Chuck Daly
K.C. Jones
Larry Brown
George Karl
Lenny Wilkens

off the top of my head, those are 10 coaches I think fit the bill.

1. Red Auerback
2. Pop
3. Phil Jackson
4.Jerry Sloan
5. Chuck Daley
6. Red Holzmen
7. Pat Riley
8. Larry Brown
9. Lenny Wilkens
10. Doc Rivers (I imagine he'll be higher on the list as his career continues)

I left Don Nelson off the list because, while he racked up a lot of wins, he racked up A LOT of losses. Same goes for Bill Fitch. I may be neglecting Jack Ramsay and John Kundla, but that's likely do to the fact that I wasn't around when they coached, but I have tried to represent coaches from each generation in this list. K.C. Jones likely deserves a spot on this list as well. And honourable mention Georgre Karl and Tex Winters.

I loved/hated Jeff van Gundy..He alwayys got the best effort, they always layed defense. But I always questioned his offensive strategy? Good list though. Just curious, what makes jeff bettter than stan in your opinion.

Trust me I hated JVD. But as a coach he did pretty damn well, he taught Thibs how to coach D. Only missed the playoffs once in 12 seasons. And I don't recall him get shatted on by Ewing or any other star (well besides Jordan lol), and with a longer resume, I will give him the edge over his brother.

Still think you gotta have Fitch and Hannum in there. Some coaches wont hold up to todays standards but for their eras, why not.
