1) Where will he sign?

2) Who will be the Lakers starting point guard?

dumb move by him there alot of pg on the market this year. He should of stayed one more year because his playoff performance was really bad. I dont see why the lakers will try to sign him for the long run

If he stays he'll be a back up point guard and if he leaves he'll probably be a back up point guard, but the difference is that he'll be the Lakers back up point guard.

As a laker fan, Sessions was a big upgrade over what we had during the season which was the slowest and worst pg in the league. But he's nothing to brag about at the same time....definitely 3rd tier. + after his playoff performance, or lake thereof, I dont mind seeing him leave. Not the end of the world as guys his caliber are a dime a dozen. He's a good backup pg at best, any team signing him should view him as just that.

He's already said he wats to be a Laker for a long, long time.

My bet is he resigns

I hope he resigns, as backup though. With the amount of money we can offer though, he'll be the starting PG and our key off season target. :(

despite getting dominated in the playoffs he is a good fit for that team. he'd never been on that stage before. both sides should get it done, he's just going to bounce around again if he goes after the contract.

He did nothing in the playoffs, lakers would make a mistake by trading him

Could we all just agree to use "re-sign" when somebody signing with the team they are currentlty playing for, and "resign" for when a person is quitting. Just saying.

I think the lakers will trade gasol for scola and lowry.

who knows where sessions is going to go. we all know he opted out for more money though and the lakers arent forking it out for him.

Besides the playoffs he looked good with them. I think he gets a starting job. LA will prob go after lowry in a trade with gasol, But sessions should still get soild money in the open market

They put up with it in the past because Kobe gave them the best chance to win a ring.

He doesn't anymore.

Cringe-worthy.

that was the right move. sessions was no where near the map before coming to la, in and out of the D league, not many casual fans knew who he was. he underachieved in the playoffs, but his regular season time in LA was probably the best of his entire life. he'll command some decent money, 4-5 mill a year, on a bad team and slowly fade out of the nba.

Funny u say that as Drew and Pau were the ones who admittedly went to the coaches and complained together about him making them run and playing fast. Kobe and Ron liked his pace, praised him, and admittedly were helpful but his two bigs *****ed to they got their way of slow it down basketball thus hurting him

Backup PG at best. I would not lose any sleep if the Lakers didn't re-sign him.

This was totally expected. Sessions already said he was opting out and wants to be a Laker for a long time. Opting out was all about getting more money and a longterm contract.

It had nothing to do with him not liking Kobe or not wanting to be a Laker. Some people just look for any excuse to hate on Kobe and the Lakers. I think the Lakers will re-sign him if Sessions comes at a reasonable price. They have his bird rights. If a team decides to overpay him he's gone.

Basically:

Quote:
Kupchak said if Sessions gets a big enough offer to leave, the Lakers still would have freed up "dollars to go another direction."

Farmar is out there, cheaper, and knows how to win and play with Kobe and Andrew. Plus he could start with this team sans triangle, if they let Ramon walk. They could also look to send Sessions via sign and trade to a team like Phoenix for Nash so they could pay Nash more and give them a young pg
