Al Michaels and Doc Rivers. Man they were awesome. I know hes more of a football guy and lacked enthusiasm some times but he has a great voice and Doc Rivers brought the passion.

JordansBulls you sly dog you, everyone above the age of 20 here knows that Costas and Collins were the guys who called MJ's final game in the Bulls uniform in Game 6 of the '98 Finals @ Utah on NBC. :laugh2:

MJ with the crossover and push off against Bryon Russell:

Jordan.....open.......CHICAGO WITH THE LEAD!!!!!! :worthy:

(PS: They are my 2nd favorite behind Chick & Stu).

Really, you liked those guys?

I hated Al Michaels. The only good call he had was D-Fish's 0.4 shot.

But they were horrible during the 04 Finals (and so were my Lakers) :(

Mike Breen is biased and trash. He's the ultimate Stern representative when it comes to announcing.

Ill never understand the love for jvg. He's horrible. All fluff and no great insight, anticipation, or coach worthy insight. Hubie brown and doug collins are my favorite even though they weren't a duo.

I also enjoy Mike Tirico and Hubie Brown currently. At first I couldnt stand them but now I really like them. Unbiased, professional and have a passion for the game.

He just tries to be overly politically correct, I just like the way he asks Hubie the right questions so Hubie can school the viewers

I think he meant Mike Trico, but yeah i hate listening to Mike Breen come up with all this Bs defending the refs every time they make a terrible call, or a player flops.

Used to enjoy Hubie but he has become annoying, always talking as if no one understands the game "Now, what they did wrong" or "Now, what they did right" over and over... He's great if you don't know basketball though.

I enjoy Marv Albert & Co., he just does his job and calls the game.

JVG is the most annoying of them all, he gets all personal and shares his feelings and crap, save it for your wife - just call the damn game and shut up.

Will kill myself before listening the Cavs duo

And I enjoy the Jazz duo

I think Marv Albert is losing it. He's not as zestful in his playcalling as he used to be. Even though everyone gives him respect and calls him the voice of the NBA on TNT, I think at this stage of their careers, Kevin Harlan has the better playcalling for 48 minutes and the better moment playcalls that get you off your seat.

It's interesting some people saying costas. Lol, I really hated him. Great analyst and interviewer, but for play by play he sounded like the kid everyone picked on in school was allowed to do a few games because his dad was the coach. I hated him an a play by play guy.

As for duos, Johnny “Red” Kerr and wayne larrivee stand out. Not the best announcers, but very memorable since they were the bulls announcers on wgn through the Jordan era.

Favorites (separately) are Doug collins, Marv Albert, and Hubie. I learned so much about the NBA as a fan by watching games Hubie did. Van Gundy is pretty good too.

Do you look to commentators for insight? I have never heard Hubie nor Collins tell me something I didnt already know, I love Hubie but sometimes I feel like hes preaching the game to newbies, I love that JVG sticks to what he would do if he were coaching and gives the occasional sarcastic remark.

I look for commentators to be into the game and not ramble on a bunch of rants and get side tracked. Jvg was a coach and now is a broadcaster...leave the comedy to the comedians. I just don't find him funny or entertaining. Hubie does cater to newbies sometimes but at least its useful to some people and he stays involved in the game. Jvg is a loud clown to me...I guess it works for some people though. To each their own.

Agreed with anyone with Jeff Van Gundy.

whats not to like? when he is serious he calls the game as good as anyone, when he is upset he doesnt hold back that sometimes i think he will be fired soon.

Funny as hell. He is the only commentator that got my attention aside from the game.
