According to Espn news, Bass will not pick up his players option and will opt out. Are the celts in a rebuilding mode? or is he simply looking to re-up with Boston for more money.

Possible destinations?

Money. He had a pretty good season and makes sense that he is looking for the extra cash and a long-term deal.

Re-up. More money. More years

He is one of the few solid pieces that they can build with outside of Rondo. Might as well get the money now.

I'll say it again if DeAndre Jordan can get 40 mill, sky is the limit lol.

The C's are gonna go in a different direction. Its unfortunate that the Big 3 are gonna be broke up. Its been a good 5 years for them. They went to 3 Conference Finals, 2 NBA Finals, and won a title. Obviously if they had been healthy all those years you could argue they could have done more, but thats the nature of the business. Especially for a veteran team like Boston.

Either your attempt at being funny failed or your lack of basketball knowledge has been exposed.

Would love the Pistons to snag him.

i like bass but he's a role player. I don't see him as a long term piece so better off he goes somewhere else to a championship caliber team needing a5th starter or 6th man

Him and Humphries are in the same boat

Sign with lottery teams for a lot of money and start OR sign for decent money with elite/great teams and be a key role player off bench

Bass only started because of injuries I think Celtics go another direction

Bass played in Orlando. You could try to spin this into another thread about your psychopathic Center.

He is going to say that his first priority is to stay with the Celtics, who wouldn't want to give more than MLE for 3 years.
He can earn a 30-34 mill 5 year deal elsewhere.
If he doesn't return to Boston he should look to fill out a team's core. OKC is a great fit, as are the Knicks, Spurs, Clippers, Wolves.

Bass is a good player, and this is the first real move of the "offseason" so far.

Only Boston can sign him for 5 years.

4 years 27 mil with the 76ers after they amnesty Brand?

Same exact skill set with the 2, but Bass is younger and athetic

Not surprising. He had a solid season and a very good playoff too.

Grow up...If you didn't care than why did you come in and decide to comment? Maybe if it said he was resigning it'd belong in the Celts forum but his opt out means he could go anywhere and people might actually want to discuss his possible destinations.

He was a little inconsistent in the playoffs and his numbers were down but I definitely hope he comes back to the Cs.

I'd rather have Hump than Bass to be honest

I like big men that actually have the ability to rebound.

He earned him self a nice long term payday with his play this season and especially post season. Dude plays his *** off and deserves it. I'd love him on my team.

With Garnett and Allen dropping off the books for this offseason, the Celtics will have some flexibility so they can think about bringing Bass back if he'll sign a long term deal for equal or less money (maybe Bass is looking for the security of a long term deal and would be willing to sign for a little less money).

I think the Celtics should try to bring back Garnett and Allen and get a player for the bench who can create his own shot. Garnett made 20+ million last year, so sign him for 10 - 12 million a year and sign Allen for 5 - 7 million a year (think he made 10+ million last year).

Should we create another Heat/Bron thread? Maybe a whining about the officiating thread? I'd rather read about Bass.

Maybe a Mitch Richmond appreciation thread? You know what, Im gonna do that right now. Im gonna start a trend where we talk about players of old. Starting with the 2nd best 2 guard of all time.

His option was for $4mil, he will get a long terms deal with more annual money. He will get overpaid by a lottery team with capspace. Good luck to him, I'm sure he's looking for a little financial security with this contract and the next contract he signs might be with a contender.

I also heard Jamal Crawford re-assured people today he was opting out of his deal
