Hall of Fame coach Jerry Sloan told SI.com he pulled out of the running for the Charlotte Bobcats head coaching job.

Sloan was believed to be one of three finalists to replace Paul Silas after he was fired in late April, but it now appears the job will go to either Pacers assistant Brian Shaw or Lakers assistant Quin Snyder.

"I took myself out today," Sloan said by phone. "I don't want to comment on it because it's never profitable for anybody. It just makes it sound like you're making a statement about someone. But they were wonderful and there were no problems. I just took myself out."

He just needs to wait until December when the Clippers job opens up.

And then there were 2...

Former Lakers assistant Brian Shaw.

And Current Lakers assistant Quin Snyder.

But I have a feeling Sloan pulled out because he might get the Orlando job.

Not really sure why he was part of it to begin with. They should go after Shaw. He seems to be the best young candidate on the market and they should get a guy who can grow with a young team.

Because he's losing his mind away from the game of basketball.

He should just be patience because a good job will eventually come up for him. No reason to go take that horrible job.

Personally, I'd like to see Shaw get the Bobcats job.

Bobcat's head coaching position >>> Magic's head coaching position.

At least the Bobcats have some young talent such as Biyombo, Henderson, and Kemba in addition to the 2nd pick this year. The Magic have a disgruntled Dwight who they're about to lose and nothing going for them at all.

I think it's time for Shaw to be the HC. I am very intrigue on what he can do.

I'm glad Sloan didnt take that horrible job and ruin his rep. That team just doesnt have the NBA talent to compete.

Sloan came to his senses and realized that it was the BOBCATS he was going to coach. Good move buddy!

Would like to see Sloan go to Portland and really turn that organization around.
