Perfect game = No hitter reached base

No hitter = No hits allowed but a hitter reached base

Perfect game is when they get 0 hits but they get some foul balls and popouts and groundouts. A no hitter is when they never make any contact all night.

A no hitter is 27 strikeouts and no foul balls(the ball never hits the bat).

Lets not get carried away, unless you just recently started watching baseball (within the last 15 years). It was a good performance for sure, and not to discredit, but Houston trotted out a AAA lineup tonight. Who besides Altuve can actually hit on that team? Altuve is the only guy hitting over .281, and the next highest avg. was .242. Hell, 4 out of 9 hitters are hitting less than .225.

A perfect game is a perfect game, no doubt about it, but it is far from one of the best pitching performances in recent history.

It was against the Astros though.

Asterisk?

The Astros have decided to blow it up and rebuild, what's your teams excuse.

The ump gave Cain several benefit of the doubt calls towards the later innings especially, I can't really blame him though Cain had something special going on.

I disagree. It's not Matt cains fault the Astros suck. I think when you are talking about dominance of no hitters, the opposing team doesn't detract from the feat or it's dominance, just my opinion. MLB talent varies from team to team, but even on the bad teams, MLB talent is very good.
