Numbers are close that being said I felt like KD had way more help where LeBron clearly carried his squad.

Harden played big in that Spurs series, Ibaka had a 11-11 game, Westbrook played well, KD had a lot of help.

Lebron basically did it alone. Wade is hobbled right now, and Bosh just got back.

Lebron

No doubt Lebron had less help but the Celtics are a weaker team than the Spurs.

I think they are a differnt type of team, whereas the spurs are great on offense, the celtics are great on defense. The spurs could not get stops when they needed to and the celtics couldnt score when they needed to. I think this matchup will be a lot closer than most people think. I think it goest at least 6 games.

Oh how quickly people forget KD's legendary 4th quarter performance. They were both incredible in the Conference Finals, couldn't go wrong picking either.

You would be wrong if you thought KD was better. Fact is LeBron carried his team throughout all the games. KD went invisible during long stretches and Ibaka, Westbrook, Harden, Cook and Sef all stepped up.

I hate to punish Durant because Lebrons all-NBA teammate didnt show up, but Lebron definitely played better.

It's funny that people say Lebron no question, kd had help, but how many of you really believe that the thunder make it to the finals without kd?

Taking into account Wade's inconsistent play and Bosh's absence in the first 5 games, do you believe the Heat would've made it to the finals without LeBron? :eyebrow:

Probably no one but that's not the question.

LeBron was better individually and his team relied on him quite a bit more too.

The assist totals are interesting, but LeBron did what he had to do to win the series, so not passing the ball as much is fine. It also doesn't help when the shooters weren't always hitting the open looks, and how quickly they were slinging it around the three point line (probably had a ton of hockey assists).

Interesting stat regarding KDs help: Westbrook took the most shots in the series and converted on just 37.8%. Have to wonder what KDs numbers would look like with a few more opportunites because he was unstoppable especially when he took over late.

Have you seen how Dwade has been playing? Or how the Heat shooters were basically a non factor in this series? I won't deny that Westbrooke played like poo but lucky for Durant guys like Thabo, Ibaka, and Harden (whom I know you are very high on) steped up.

When was the last time a perimeter player averaged 34/11/4 against a great defensive team? Anyone?

Both of LeBron and KD were great except LeBron was legendary. It's amazing how LeBron became the rebounder in absence of Bosh, exactly what the Heat needed.

Hawkeye15
06-11-2012, 01:36 PM
Yup, im surprised how many people think its not even close.

Considering how dominant LeBron was on BOTH ends, and in the rebounding department, as well as him scoring the ball more, and more effectively, not sure how you think its that close.

KD

Harden/Westbrook/Ibaka are way better than what Wade did and Bosh played sparingly until game 7. LeBron's numbers and effect on the outcomes of those games was far greater than what Durant did.

Funny how Lebron's rebounding went up to 11 and assists went down to 4. Usually it's the other way around. I know he needed to score more with Wade playing like crap.

in KD's defence. Who played against the harder team. Whose better spurs or celts? Rhetorical question i know. but you should take that into account aswell as who's on your team. i didn't watch all the thunder games (did the heat) but most impressive part was KD hitting threes and putting games out of reach. but Lebron has been carryng the Heat (wade needs to taKe it inside...)
