Will adjust the lineups once Spo confirms them. I just have a gut feeling Spo smartens up and starts Bosh.

We should probably expect the same lineup that started G7. Spo is not one to adjust until the Heat lose.

Here we go! Take this game, lets go heat!

I kind of like that lineup, with battier at the 4. It will bring ibaka all the way out to the 3pt line and he cant guard the paint. And its not like ibaka is a low post scoring machine.

Take at least one in OKC

I would like to think that Spo realizes that a front court of Ibaka-Perkins is a far different animal than Bass-KG. Different series, different plan of attack.

Stretching the floor and drawing Ibaka/Perkins out of the paint will be crucial in this series, just like it was in G6 and G7 vs Boston.

If we don't start Bosh, I think Haslem at Center is the next best option because he can stretch the floor.

What is your preferred SL? (if we don't start Bosh)

HEAT go into this series as underdogs, which is great cuz they thrive in the underdog role.

Just get 1 of the 1st 2 and we should be ok. It will not be easy though.

Winning game 1 is easier than game 2 on the road IMO. So game 1 is the most important game for the Heat in the series. Winning game 1 will change the momentum completely and might result in a game 2 win

Even though I honestly think Bosh should start, I kinda have the feeling of Spo not changing the game 7 lineup which had Bosh come off the bench.
LeBron and Durant are gonna have their usual games but I think Durant will see tougher times against the defensive tandem of LeBron-Battier.
Wade's defense on Harden will be absolutely vital. Wade can be such a great defender when he wants to be. He limited Rondo's scoring in games 6 and 7. Wade should spend time on Westy as well when Harden is out and if Westy is going off.

For LeBron and Wade play in the post as much as possible early in the game. Try to get Perkins or Ibaka some early quick fouls and thus send one of them to the bench. That will open the lane a lot for Wade and LeBron and Chalmers to slash.

Finally, 2 of Chalmers, Haslem, Miller, Battier has to have big games with 3 or more threes from the shooters.

you're maybe right about battier/lebron on Durant but just want to remind you that he went of jackson/leonard which are both top perimeter defender, durant also went off ron artest defense and marion's wonderful defense.
even then if wade can contain Harden...
you miss a guy in order to stop Westbrook.
Wade will be going from westB to harden ? allright, but be sure the attack of the thunder will adapt. If you looked at spurs/thunder serie, you can see that the team is attacking the weak of opponent. and wade will lose a lot of energy trying to stop westbrook. That's what actually kill teh spurs : energy and athletism. even if you have more weapons on that...

don't forget that our frontcourt is not only perk/ibaka. Nick Collison contribute a lot especially when ibaka was in foul trouble. I've seen you use a lot small ball, we're also capable of with a huge efficiency (kill the spurs !)

i think it will be close anyway. I also think you MUST get a win in OKC because we'll get at least one in Miami.

In 2 games against the Heat this season:

Durant has scored 29ppg (52% FG, 50% 3pt%).

Excellent defense by Shane Battier.

Westbrook has scored 20ppg (31%FG and 28% 3PT%)

Atrocious defense by the Heat Guards.

Wade>You
06-11-2012, 01:37 PM
if we win the first, okc will be DEMORALIZED.They should be demoralized if they lose 1 of 2 at home. But Miami has to protect home court or walk out up 3-2 after 5 games. If they don't, OKC will still remain confident they can win this series, which is a dangerous thing (ask the Spurs).

Heat will show a lot of maturity and all but lock up their first title together if they walk out of OKC with the first 2 games.

Of course, our guys will have to defend like Shane Battier for that to happen though.

Yep, battier will do a nice job on durant, durant is a superstar so he will ge this but lebron wont have to use all his energy on defense guarding durant. its laughable that some people here disrespect battier like they do.

And I like Shane Battier. 29ppg on 50% FG and 52% 3PT, if only our guys could defend like that.

Let's see: 5 players x 29ppg = 145ppg on 50% FG and 52% 3PT.

That's good defense and we should hope our guys follow Battier's lead.

2 game sample size? lmao How did the best defenders in the NBA fair against durant? exactly. No clue what your talking about. Or that he saves lebron energy by not having to guard durant. Durant can avg 40 a game for all I care as long as miami wins.

As usual, you look at the negative and no the positive, how about Durant being an incredible scorer, the best in the league. But you choose to blame battier. lol

Why would Wade have to handle Westbrook and Harden both? Chalmers will do just fine on Westbrook. If in case Westbrook goes off then LeBron will handle him with Battier on KD. And Wade on Harden. We have plenty of wing defense, plenty. And Sefolosha will see a lot of time so Wade gets to save his energy because Sefolosha is not harden.

I like this series more because both teams are perimeter oriented. Match-ups are gonna be epic.

i think just a couple of minutes for pittman wont destroy our chances but could be a gain if ever the result is positive ..so why not ?I don't know the answer to that lol. If it were up to me, Pittman would've been playing off the bench from game 1 in the regular season, and eventually insert him into the starting role as the team played better with him.

Such a shame that Pittman was great at the end of the regular season, but Spo didn't trust him to continue as the starter or even off the bench.

It speaks to his ability as a player that his confidence isn't shot after the uneven playing time, even after performing well and turning us into a way better defensive team, that he can still go out there and perform like he had been playing all along.

If I had to guess, I'd say that the Heat don't want Pittman to draw attention so they have a shot at re-signing him in the offseason.

Cole only sniffed the court against the Celtics because he actually played well against Rondo and guarded him well. Spo will probably insert him to see if he bothers Fisher and can blow by him or guard Westbrook, but if Cole gets blown up on his first shot at some PT, I could see him not seeing the court again all series. Let's see how he handles himself.

He's still a liability on offense unless he's on the break. All his layups get blocked and he's not making his jumper, but this is the wrong time to rely on our rook for much of anything.

It shouldn't take a loss in the NBA Finals to realize that continuing to bring Bosh off the bench coming into this series is just dumb. Ibaka might as well set up a tent, light up a camp fire, and have a have a sing-a-long with Perkins in the paint 'cause that's all they'll be doing to start games if Bosh doesn't start.

I think Erik Spoelstra really likes Battier starting at the 4 because he does two things. He can shoot the 3, which makes PF/Ibaka work harder and gets him out of the paint, as well as pump fake and drive baseline, which he showed in Game 6 and 7.

Theoretically, this is not a bad idea, but Battier has to be be able to knock down the 3 and draw another defender when he goes baseline. If not he's not producing offensively, the Thunder will just cheat off him to help on LBJ/Wade like other teams have done and we'll end up playing 4 on 5.

After seeing Battier bother David West the way he did in the 2nd round, I think we can without question afford to keep in the starting lineup. Point of emphasis on defense should be to guard the paint and run out to the perimeter. Also the HEAT have to make sure Westbrook doesn't get that mid range going. Most importantly if the calls don't go our way, don't ***** and run back on D.

for real! gotta make extra effort to get back on D, without any b****ing to the refs.

I think all of us trust Pittman more than Spo does. Even if we're getting destroyed in the paint and giving up our usual 10 o-rebs a game, Pittman won't sniff time.

I think you are all alone on this.

Pittman sucks like a Dyson.

I kind of want to see this matchup to start the game:

Chalmers on Thabo
Wade on Westbook
LeBron on Durant
Battier on Ibaka
Bosh on Perkins

I know battier on ibaka doesn't sound ideal, I think it is a huge advantage for us on the offensive end.

You might see Wade on Westbrook in the 4th Q or important plays, but Spo won't want Wade wasting energy guarding Westbrook, he much rather have Wade guarding Thabo in a corner and playing help defense on the weakside etc...

Miami is trying to play mind games with their opponents on if Bosh starts or doesn't, because 'where the big bad Miami Heat,' and if you're the other team, you're just thinking 'whatever....whatever you guys need to do to give yourselves confidence''
