View Full Version : To every overreaction - 2010 NBA Finals

Anyone who wants to overreact and say this Heat series is over, the Celtics were up just 2 years ago 3-2 against the Lakers in the 2010 Finals only to get blown out in Game 6 and lose in Game 7 in a devastating finals.

The Heat could easily come back - we'll see if it happens.

Lakers had two games at home, the heat are going to have to win in Boston, but yes its not over

I still think the Spurs and Heat will be in the finals, even though both are down 3-2. But I'm very impressed by Boston and OKC no doubt.

Absolutely the Heat could win this series. But the Heat shouldn't have lost more than 1 or 2 games in this entire series.

It's over. Even if Boston loses game 6, I feel confident that they'll win game 7

You forgot Perkins was injured in the last two games. If you lose a regularly rotational player, of course it's going to have an effect on your team's performance thus resulting in those two straight losses to the Lakers back in 2010.

And this isn't the finals, it's not 2-3-2

Please do not ever compare the 2012 Heat team with Spo to the 2010 Lakers team with Phil Jackson. Or for that matter the 2010 Celtics with the 2012 Celtics. If the 2012 Heat were playing the 2010 Celtics squad, this series would already be over and the C's would be in the Finals.

Most Boston fans are saying it's over cause all the heat fans said it was a long shot for us to win and they were claiming it was over after game 2 so wahhhh

Comparing Heat/Celtics ECF to Lakers/Celtics Finals is a bad comparison. The Lakers had homecourt in both games 6 and 7 so it was winnable.

A better comparison would be the Pistons/Nets 2nd round series in 04'. The Pistons were in the same scenario as Miami right now (down 3-2 with game 6 on the road). They ended up winning game 6 in NJ then won game 7 in Detroit and advanced. Obviously not the same teams but in the same situation.

boston is 9-0 in game 5's when ties 2-2
they are also like 11-13 in closeout games.

going to take a miracle for miami to come back, but they are not done yet.

The Lakers had games 6 and 7 at home.

Miami has to win game 6 on the road and frankly this season they have not been as good a road team as they were last season.

I hate kobe with all my heart but not 1, not 2, not 3, not 4 but 5 rings. Hell sasha vujacic has more rings than lebron, bosh, wade combined lol and as much as their entire roster lol.

I'm just trolling with the vujacic comment he a *****.

doesn't lebron have a perfect record in close out games? meaning he has never won one when he could be closed out....

It's cool that they have faith but let's be realistic here... What do they see that makes them think they are going to beat that team in their backyard? If they going to win it has to be a blowout game and that I don't see happening.

Kobe outrebounded the entire Celtics frontcourt of Pierce, Garnett and Sheed by himself in a series where winning rebounding team won every single game.

i hear ya... i was just pointing out that his 11-13 record for boston in close outs is very misleading and pretty much cherry picking... i like my cherries better :D

On a side note, i can still see Miami winning it but i doubt it happens

For the most part this has been a tight competitive series but I think it will be very hard for the Celtics to win 4 straight over the Heat and close this thing out.

However, what happened in 2010 against the Lakers has no bearing on this situation.

Because every heat fan most other fans and every commentator ( except wilbon) said heat in 5 or 6.
Well ain't that about a motha ****er. Everyone that called them old and slow well you light a fire under those old ***** and they are ready to fight their way to the top one more time!
Go celtics and beat down the sheep

Honestly the heat were facing the same situation against the pacers. The only reason they won that series is because the pacers choked. They were young and didn't know how to handle the pressure once miami stepped it up. Don't confuse that with the celtics because they can close this series out. A lot of people overlooked miami's flaws once they beat the pacers.

Boston fans can talk all they want because they weren't giving any respect. So many heat fans were saying they would get swept or it's only going to 5 games. I don't blame yall talk all you want. Heat fans thought this was gonna be easy.
