didnt see a thread about this, and kinda wanted to discuss it. hope its ok i made it.

its going to be an interesting game tonight, i think HEAT take this inspite of the trend of Miami copying what SA does XD

its also going to be interesting to see if Bosh gets any PT tonight.

not sure what you mean, but the refs will def play a role, then do there thing by making the foul calls and free throw attempts even by games end

based on past trends, we can def see some sweet home cookin from the refs, but because of the recent backlash we've seen from media/coaches. i think its going to get better each game and even more tightly run.

The refs officiating these series including SA/OKC are under a microscope..every little missed call is going to get amplified and we see that every night from the posters here on PSD.

Its def going to be a great game, but there's a fine line with "let them play" idea. I don't think its fair if a team relentlessly attacks the rim and not get rewarded for it; (and this applies to Boston as well, because they def have capable drivers)

Some teams are made with different capabilities than other teams, for instance some could be great mid jump shooters, others may be focused on 3pt snipers, Miami is clearly a team that needs the FT shootings as a majority of their scored points. I don't know maybe its just me, but when this whole "let them play" idea comes up in my mind people just have to know that there's more than one way teams can play and not all the teams are going to play the same or be good at the same aspects

Well you certianly have to call blantant fouls, I'm not advocating that they swallow their whistles.

What kills me is when they make calls they dont see or make a call just for the sake of making one.

It's the playoffs, if you are not 100% sure you saw a foul, dont call it.

LongIslandIcedZ
06-05-2012, 02:52 PM
I wouldnt mind seeing the refs swallow the whistles to a degree. Dont call a foul just because Lebron, Wade or Pierce scream and flail their arms. If you see a blatant foul, call it. If not, let the guys play. If officiating is done fairly the best team will win.

If Bosh scores 12+ points and 5+ rebounds, I think the Heat win. Wade really needs to play well the whole game though. Hopefully guys like Chalmers, Battier, and Miller will make their open threes as well.

Will be interesting to see if the Heat and Spo incorporate Bosh into the equation tonight. My guess is that he dresses but doesn't play. If he does play it's 20 minutes tops and I doubt he starts. If Boston wins tonight, you can bet the farm that Bosh plays in game 6.

I see the Heat taking care of business at home. Would have been HUGE to win game 4 and be able to close out tonight. But now with OKC beating SA in SA, who knows if home court is an unbeatable force anymore. I think this game is closer than people think.

Not to big, but he will require kg to guard him 18 feet out the paint, opening the lane for wade and bron to drive kg cant roam and play safety.

also, w/bosh on court+ wade shoots 55%
without bosh wade shoots 45%

1qtr gonna be huge For Boston. They cant afford to fall behind by to much or they will end up fighting back all game with not much gas left in the tank at the end. Miami is gonna start this game (i would think) like a bat outta hell. They must weather the storm. If they can keep it close or hold a nice lead it'll put all the pressure on Miami. That said, i got Miami 96-Boston 81.

From Jorge Sedano (https://twitter.com/SedanoShow/status/210127984630308864):

Some interesting stats about tonight's refs:

Monty McCutchen - 11 Playoffs Gms. Home Team win % - .818 - Avg margin of victory 4.5 pts.

Ron Garretson - 8 gms. Home Team win % .875 - Avg Margin of victory 7.3 pts.

Derrick Stafford - Home Team win % .875 - Avg margin of victory 10.9 pts.

Alternate: John Goble - Home Team win % .833 - Avg Margin of victory 8.5 pts

(4.5 + 7.3 + 10.9)/3 = ~8

Tonight's line? Heat by 8

Agree completely.... I don't believe that miami or Boston has what it takes to knock off the west this year. Especially if okc makes it.... They just have too much fire power that Miami cant compete with and are the only team with the youth to actually keep up with them.

chris bosh remains a game-time decision: "if he does play, he will not start," spoelstra said.

And this is why I hate Spo. If he can play in any capacity he should be out there. I dont care if he starts. I will take him coming off the bench as well.

Edit: I hate his inability to make a decision. Bosh said he is ready. He has practiced without any setbacks. And it is a pivotal game 5. Get his out there in whatever way possible.

I disagree. I think Miami can compete with OKC. It will be a tough matchup but Miami's defense will be able to keep them in those games.

No doubt... I used to think that okc couldn't beat them because they don't play d, but they have done a great defensive job on the spurs in the last three games.
Now I know that spurs are older and Miami has the potential to run up and down, but okc makes a lot of shots and that kind of takes away what Miami likes to do, which is break.
Miami's weakness is their inability to play championship quality bball in the half court.

ChitownBears22
06-05-2012, 07:22 PM
I agree boone. I think OKC will have trouble shutting down a healthy heat team though. IF Wade fails to step up and take good shots then OKC should win. But if he realizes circus shots aren't the best way to go when you are down and passes the ball to the open shooter Miami will have a shot.

Chris Bosh is active and expected to play in Tuesday's Game 5 against the Celtics.
He won't start, but should play in short spurts after missing the last nine games with his strained abdomen. Udonis Haslem will start tonight, and Bosh will simply try to make it through the game without aggravating his injury.
