practiced like usual and stayed in the shape he needed to be in last off-season? I think he said he didn't pick up a ball for two months after winning the championship. Obviously losing Chandler was big, but last post-season he was amazing offensively, a lot of the the time draw dropping. What seed do you think they would have ended up in? Would they still be in it? Was it best for Dirk to take that time off to clear his mind after all that he went through and made it to the top?

dirk checked out as soon as cuban did. he failed to re-sign the two critical cogs that put that dallas roster over the top (jj and chandler).

don't care what the motivation was, that team was well built. i don't blame dirk for taking a year off as soon as his owner basically did the same thing. odom and carter only made the situation worse.

Still a first round exit... Their defense would still be terrible without Chandler. Dirk would still be exposed on the defensive end, but there would be no help.

After watching what Chandler did in NY this year with two lazy-*** defenders in Melo and Amar'e , it's clear how valuable he is to a defensive system..

It wasn't actually the defense that suffered this year, it was the offense for the Mavs. Kidd couldn't score, Marion couldn't, EVEN Terry couldn't. There was no 2nd option behind Dirk and that was the problem.

agree the team could of won 2 or maybe even 3 more championships had they kept one of two. but making both leave was flat out ********. cba will always be his excuse but danny ainge is making cuban look like a moron right now.

no free agents wanna play for mark cuban bc their afraid if they go there they will be traded or used like a cheap whore for a ring.

They weren't going to win it whether Chandler was there or not or even if Dirk was in top form. They essentially had to upset 2 teams last year just to win it, can't expect that to happen in back to back years when you upset a team to win it all.
