Pau I can agree with, but Odom..... he used to be, but not anymore, im a person that like to see real effort, and what Odom done when he was Maverick was embarrassing to say the least, he showed like no effort, he is a little baby at heart, and when something doesn't go his way.... he gives up.

I don't know, but the Warriors front court next season is going to be the best passing duo in the league. Lee & Bogut are both great passers.

He's a CAREER 4 APG player. He's been one of the best point forward's in the league for a while (beside's this year of course). I really think you're underrating him. The way he's able to control the ball and dish it out like a natural PG at his size is truly remarkable.

This makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

You're acting as if Lamar forgot how to pass the basketball or something. Its one of the strongest parts of his overall skill set.

I would consider Lamar one of the best passers and I'm considered by some a Laker hater around here. So am I a homer as well.

Honestly I really don't value your opinion if you were serious with that best passers of all time list.

And I did watch him and he looked demotivated and lost. He looked like he wasn't trying. How can I ignore a player's entire body of work and focus on just on season in which he just pussified the league. He's not going to stop being a great passer just like that.

You're just a waste of time.

The essence of the argument is simple. Melo struggled to score that didn't make him less of a player it just meant he struggled but you don't understand that because you can't seem to wrap your mind around a simple concept. Instead you'd rather have an opinion change every season 10 games like a typical what have you done for me lately fan.

Yeah because that 3.9 AST/G or his 4.0 AST/36 over his career indicate that he just doesn't have it. In a horrible year he managed to post the same AST/36 as Tim Duncan, for example (2.9).

Wilt's whoreish ways are well documented. Doesn't change the fact however that he was indeed a premier passing big man. Even if he wasn't a whore he'd still be one of the best.

I think also we can't forget that the greatest passing big man ever was Magic Johnson. Yea he was a PG but still a big man.

For me, from players I've actually seen play, there are only 2 legitimate options: Sabonis and Vlade.

Pau is a very good passer as well but Vlade and Sabonis would've made great PGs if they were sized for it based solely on their passing ability...

Also, I can't believe more people aren't mentioning Chris Webber.

I have a hard time including Smith because he's not a big man in the traditional sense of the word. He doesn't post up very much and pass from down low which is what I think this question is going for. If you count him, he's better than everybody named most likely because he handles the ball so much.

How can someone say that someone is the best passer because they average a high amount of assists? Having more assists than someone (especially marginally) does not make you a great passer. Andrew Bogut is one of the best passers for big men in the game and he doesn't usually rank among the best bigs in terms of APG.

I'm thinking people's rankings are based more on positions (PF and C) rather than size.

Such a tragedy that we didn't get Sabonis until he was much older. Most don't understand how good the guy really was.

lol, if sabonis had come in the late 80s to portland AND he never ****ed up his knees...... i know of a supposed "goat" that would be looking at his hands and watching 1 or 2 rigns max.

Haven't even read thru the thread, but the following for me:

C: Sabonis, Walton, Divac, Hakeem
PF: Garnett, Webber

Thoughts on Wilt?

Honestly C-Webb is getting seriously underrated in here.

Totally agree

Ben Rothlisberger is easily the best passing big man in professional sports today.

I have watched some old games, and some tape of him, it didn't jump off the screen at me. So I don't have a strong opinion on that one way or another. That being said, I was simply watching to see his scoring and rebounding, to see what all the fuss was about. Though I have read numerous sources comment on how well he passed the ball.

Oh man, Blazers would've had Terry Porter, Clyde Drexler, Clifford Robinson, Kevin Duckworth, Buck Williams, and a true Arvydas Sabonis?! Game over.

I know, but as a Blazer fan it's all we have :(

If you're going to include Hedo as a bigman then you also must include Lebron as one in which case he would easily be the best passing bigman right now.
