West and Granger are going to play injured, and their spirit is broken, I think Miami closes out. It will be a single digit win though.

ManRam

Their spirit broken? Nah. They'll be fired up:

1. home crowd
2. larry's comments
3. the hard flagrant fouls
4. it's an elimination game

I actually think they come out of the gates harder than Miami tonight...and I don't think there will necessarily caryover for Miami. They have been a slow team early in games it seems like, even after good/big wins.

I'm not saying I think Indy wins...I just don't think they've given up or are ready to go down without a fight (hopefully figuratively and not literally).

Granger will be key. If he's not even close to 100%, they're in trouble. I mean, they obviously need his offense (when he got hurt in game 5 things went downhill really fast...it was a 3 point game at that point) but they need his defense too. They don't really have another solid option to guard LBJ...and lesser defenders means more work for Hibbert. More work for Hibbert means moving out of the paint and leaving the rim to help stop the penetration of LeBron. He's been really dominant at the rim defensively, and his size is their biggest advantage...but if you can beat the first level and force him to help, that opens up things at the rim. That will be key.

Miami has found the right rotation and game plan to attack the Pacers. I think Indiana is scratching their head wondering how they are going to stop Wade and LeBron. They are trying to get into their heads like the Mavs did, but it's not working.

I don't think Indy has answer for them, hence Indiana is frustrated. I'm not sure the Pacers really thinks they can beat the Heat.

You could be right about the first part, for sure. But again, I don't buy the second part. They've beaten Miami twice now, and they hung around in two of the losses. Sure, they're banged up...but this is an emotionally strong team. Even if deep down they don't think they can win (not sure about that), they aren't gonna quit. They're hungry and they're mad.

I just can't expect them to rollover. If they get beat, or even killed, it's because they aren't as good...not because of a lack of effort or confidence. This is a mentally-strong team. They're at home (where they're great), the crowd will feed them...they'll have confidence.

My prediction: a close first half, with a quiet start from LeBron and esepcially the supporting cast. The Big Two come out hot in the third, a few members of the cast hit a few shots, and the Heat pull away. Not a blowout, not at all...but I like the Heat to take control in the second.

Keep in mind: I have now predicted this to happen so you can be assured it won't.

There won't be a fight.

THE ONLY WAY there is one is if Indy gets down BIG and starts it. Neither team can risk losing anyone in this series, or especially down the road. It's not worth it.

The biggest message to be made: the Heat winning and sending Indy packing, or Indy winning and forcing a game 7. That does more than a stupid little fight.

I am going with the Miami Heat in this game. I cannot see the Pacers winning with a banged-up Danny Granger. Also, ESPN Stats and Info says that the Heat are a better scoring team when Haslem is not on the floor. They outscored the Pacers by 28 points when he was off the floor.

Normally I would say Heat have the edge, but....

1) Coming off a blowout loss
2) Home court calls
3) Riled up after the hard fouls by Pittman and Haslem
4) Called out by the Bird
5) Backs up against the wall
6) Haslem, Bosh and Pittman out making them VERY small

I see a good chance of the Pacers pulling this one out.

55% to the Pacers.

I also think if the Refs don't keep it tight at least initially that this could get out of control VERY fast. It wouldn't take much for players to start getting very nasty or even an outright brawl if the refs aren't careful.

Pacers/Heat has crossed from competitive to Chippy to real dislike of eachother.

It should be a very interesting game in terms of play and officiating.

It really does. LeBron is the sure thing for the Heat. Wade is the x-factor and the supporting cast hitting open shots is the icing on the cake.

When Granger or anyone of that fact checks him he seems to be more of a pg. and the reason I call him a pg is, while im sitting here watching wade go off, james seems content on running point, passing the ball letting the play evolve. But this is where I get upset, I see granger injured one on one with James, james passes when he has the clear path... Maybe if James pressed granger it'll open up shots...If you wanna see how James should play look at Wade. And no matter how James stuff the box, thee Heat go as fast as Wade goes

Yeah. Heat fans can't ever cry conspiracy. The NBA's greatest fear is an Indy/PHI ECF. Luckily.. they don't have to fix games to avoid that...but they'd never fix games to get that scary series

But actually...they'd never fix anything anyways. So who cares? Stop whining! Yay!

I'd rather not get in a discussion about this, but the most telling stat is one game Dwayne Wade had more FTs than the Mavs whole team. Doesn't mean it was rigged, but it's questionable.

And they had an obvious reason to fix the Kings/Lakers series, they weren't going to let Kobe/Shaq lose to Sacramento.

And they had an obvious reason to fix the Kings/Lakers series, they weren't going to let Kobe/Shaq lose to Sacramento.

It's in Wade's nature to attack the rim. It was in none of the Mavs'. Go back and watch the series and tell me how many of those trips to the line for Wade weren't fouls. You won't find many. You can look at the totals without actually evaluating the fouls, but that doesn't really do anything justice. It was the most relentless individual effort I've ever seen. Sometimes FT shooting totals should show disparity.

But yes...let's not get into this. I believe strongly that the NBA doesn't fix games. It's too risky, too hard to keep the hundreds of people needed to be involved quiet and it could ruin the league. And one horrendously poorly officiated game (2002) doesn't change my philosophy. You believe strongly the other way...we won't get anywhere.
