In an effort to revive his NBA career, Greg Oden recently underwent the controversial knee procedure that superstars Kobe Bryant and New York Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez say took years of wear off their bodies, according to sources.

"Greg had long planned to have this procedure done,'' one of the sources said. "He thought he'd wait until his knee was completely healed, but the doctor said Greg would get the greatest benefit by doing it now because it would help his recovery.''

He's going to have to get a couple knee transplants instead. He got hurt getting off his couch! He is injury prone. He should just take the money that he did not earn and retire.

We all want the feel good story to happen, but I just don't think anybody actually has any faith in it now.

It's sad that he is so young and has so much potential... But his knees are busted. I don't see him coming back and doing anything but getting hurt again. I do hope I have to eventually eat my words though.

If I'm not mistaken he's injured more than just his knees. He has brittle bones, with difficulty healing those bones. The blood vessels just don't get to those areas that need help and hence he's always getting hurt and not healing from them.

My only question is he still under Trailblazer control? Did they lose Roy and Oden???

I heard he was waived

That is correct...after his umpteenth comeback. Hopefully that platelet treatment works out for him.

Did anybody read the article about the Blazers staff. It basically said that there staff was told that those guys were rehabbing improperly and that info was ignored and they rushed Oden, Roy, and Przybilla back and they all ended up re-injuring themselves.

Not sure how much of Oden injury problem is on him being briddle or the Blazers medical staff incompetence.

I hope he does this and ends up with a team with a progressive medical staff that can keep him healthy.
