What I like about the Spurs is that nobody had them playing this good before the season started. Even when the playoffs were about to begin, a lot of people felt they weren't built for the playoffs. Well look at them now - completely dominating and showing no signs of slowing down.

That's 16 wins in a row! Their last loss was on April 11th, to the Lakers

ive never been a fan of the spurs or been excited to watch them play, and the years they are in the finals are they years i pay attention the least, but this year, i would be excited i think, maybe not if its vs the pacers much, but if it was the celtics or the heat id definitely be following it close and i like and have more appreciation for the spurs now. The way they have been able to sustain the level of success is remarkable, in a smaller market as well. Not every year in the finals do you have guys that are considered "all time greats" playing, spurs are not my team by no means but ill be excited to see them in the finals, the WCF will definitely be exciting too!

I used to HATE watching the Spurs in the finals thinking that it was boring basketball, but now I realize that its basketball at its finest. They know how to execute on both sides of the floor and, well,...they play basketball the way it SHOULD be played in order to win.

GrkGawdofWalkz
05-18-2012, 01:47 AM

Then don't watch. The Spurs do everything in the game right. They have a team constructed through the draft and by smart trades. Minus the Jefferson acquisition. They play aggressive offense and for those who say they aren't playing defense look at CP3's stat totals. You wanta be fans who watch for the alley oop's cannot see that Blake Griffin is such a flawed basketball player. He has been getting jobbed this whole series. He's Duncan's *****. Just like Garnett is. So if you don't want to watch don't. But Chris Paul cannot do anything about the fact that he won't be able to will his team to victory over a better team.

Yes I'd love to see the spurs but America won't. America wants to see the stars and lebron try to win. This audience (psd) though is the wrong audience to ask. We spend alot of time on the Internet just talking about games of course well watch whoever plays. But the spurs really play a fun style of ball and they aren't the defensive and "boring" team they used to be. I personally have always liked watching them play but no one should call them boring now. They have exciting young players and play at one of the fastest paces in the game. They have 2 old players who are still 2 of the best around and TP who at 29 is in his prime. What do people not like about watching the spurs?

Why not? I understand the casual basketball fans won't probably find the Spurs interesting but real hardcore fans would love to see them in the finals. From the little you've said in this thread, all you've shown is lack of basketball knowledge and love of the game.

Stop watching sports analysts and start watching games, form your own opinions. Media likes discrediting teams and putting labels on players and their team.

I do have my own opinion. I like watching teams that run. That's a more entertaining style of play. The teams I like are the Heat, Clippers, Thunder, Bulls, and Knicks. Those are teams I'd prefer to see in the finals. I'm not a fan because I'd rather see the Clippers than the Spurs? :laugh2:

Lets be honest now, who wouldn't watch the Finals if the Spurs do make it? I don't want to sound traditional, but Spurs is one hell of a basketball team. If I can make everyone in my team in the league we are playing on, I would definitely do it. My team and I will probably win the championship next season... too bad we lost.

I'm actually talking about the team I play on in real life! Not the Bulls.

I didn't say the Clippers first hand, just used them as an example. Your reasoning just makes no sense, Spurs are the highest scoring team in the league and "run" just as well if not better than the teams you just mentioned. It also sounds like your bandwagon fan, just going by the teams you named. Not that theres anything wrong with that, it just tells me how much of a "basketball" fan you really are.

But hey, nothing to get angry about. I'd rather you be a sportscenter highlight fan than a "DIEHARD" fan, that threatens players for missing shots or whatnot; as I'm reading about the hate Steve Blake is getting.

Watch the other 26 teams, you don't have to be a fan but it raises your bball knowledge. Maybe you'll make less lame remarks about anything related to basketball, outside of your "favorite" teams.

Take care buddy

I wouldn't mind watching the Spurs. They've been the best team in the NBA most of the season and haven't really been given the respect they deserve. Anyone who doesn't watch if The Spurs if they get to the finals is ignorant and probably haven't seen them all season. By reputation the Spurs are boring, basically because Tim Duncan has the personality of a plank of wood and plays like it. This season however, the Spurs have been playing great ball and are exciting aswell.

The Spurs are more exciting to watch than the Lakers yet the rating will be down just because of an ill-conceived reputation.

If you don't enjoy watching the Spurs play beautiful selfless team basketball than please go find another sport and refrain from posting in the NBA forum ever again.

You should enjoy watching the game played the way its meant to be played, if you need flashy dunks or big time diva superstars to enjoy the game, quite frankly thats pathetic.

I can't wait to see the battled tested experience vs fearless youth matchup were gonna see in the WCF. And I can't wait to see the vets vs vets Celtics vs Spurs in the finals, with a slew of HOFers all making one last run at it to solidify their respective legacies.

I would. Against Boston. Real basketball...not hoops.

Oddly enough I think the lakers would be toughest team for the spurs to beat but I cant them getting through okc...No I would not watch the spurs in the finals but im quite sure they will be there and most likely will win...if Lakers arent getting there I dont care who wins as long as Lebron dont get a ring lol

A Spurs-Pacers Finals would be interesting.
