Wow, I honestly thought this was some sort of a mix up, sounds like hes going down.

Chris “Birdman” Andersen will not be available to the Denver Nuggets for Game 6 against the Lakers tonight, as law enforcement officials investigate him for unknown Internet crimes against children. He has been “excused” from all team-related activities. Per the Denver Post: “Authorities searched Andersen’s Larkspur home this morning and seized property. Andersen, 33, has not been arrested or charged with a crime. ‘The Denver Nuggets are aware of today’s media reports involving forward/center Chris Andersen. It involves a legal investigation and we are awaiting further details,’ team officials wrote in an unsigned statement. ‘Per team policy, the Nuggets will not comment on any ongoing legal circumstance involving any player or employee.’ [...] The Denver County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Deborah Sherman said the investigation remains open and declined to provide details about what items deputies took or any specific allegations against Andersen. [...] In Colorado, Internet crimes against children can include anything from exchanging pornographic images of kids to using chatrooms to lure children for sexual purposes. Frequently, police seize computers, data storage devices and other electronics in these types of investigations. Proving who used the device can be tricky if multiple people have access to it. Public records suggest one other person — a 30-year-old woman — may live at the Larkspur home. Andersen has been under investigation since February, when a California law enforcement agency tipped off Douglas County investigators.”

This is a disgrace why would you even consider doing something like this. You're a basketball player making millions of dollars you can get anything you want why would you want to be involved in something like this. Not to mention he will probably be abused in jail.

Investigative bureaus do not want to be called out for wrongly accusing and arresting someone. They plan the arrest based on the level of evidence and how strongly that evidence may be used to prove guilt. They don't just go around arresting people, especially not high-profile people like Andersen.

There is almost a 100% chance that they found something. It just has to be proven whether or not it was Andersen's and whether or not he knew that he possessed the illicit material.

I would hasten to NOT jump to conclusions in an allegation or investigation this potentially disgusting and evil. Just have to hope it's not true, but these sick ****s are everywhere, and the NBA personnel is not immune to it.

I hope it's a mistake, but if not - along with the Penn State situation - I hope it helps put this epidemic in the world on BLAST. There might not be a more sick subset of society.

it really is a sad addiction. i'm glad the walls of nepotism are coming down in this industry and others, people realizing that hiding this stuff is never the right choice short term or long.

that said, george karl made some supportive statements that make me want to wait and see what happens. andersen is also a troubled soul and it would suck for him to slip back into this. i was just explaining how great a redemption story he was to my mom while watching the game the other night. weird..

Well, his life is over..

Famous, rich, tall, covered in ugly tattoos, and now labeled a pedophile.

Something funny about a pedophile who calls himself bird man, I'm just not sure what.

yeah even a dude his size can only take on so many comers...and there will be too many when they find out what he's in for. it's a twisted style of justice.
