In all seriousness, it looks like Amare wanted to help him up, but then looked up and noticed he just fouled out for the season.

I miss the old days where they allowed a little contact. If anything, thats a foul on Battier cuz his feet weren't set.

Battier is the most egregious flopper in the NBA. I applaud Amare for his actions

I actually felt kind of bad for Amare. He's not very happy atm. The Knicks are a wierd team to play for. It became a team stars wanted to be on again but I dont see that lasting very long with all the **** talking from fans and the media towards anyone who isn't gelling at any given moment in time.

Yeah he should of passed to Novak. Battier knew there was going to be contact, but when it wasn't as strong as he expected he exaggerated his reaction.

watching the nba and complaining about flopping is like living in seattle and complaining about rain.

whether you like it or not, every team has multiple "floppers"

I remember on play where Wade reached in on Melo and he nearly threw himself out of bounds acting...

Your feet dont have to be set to take a charge. If you have position and are in front of someone and they run you over it is still a charge.

^ With that Logic, then Battier deserved to be pushed down for his defense on Carmelo in this series :D

To the move, classless, but I mainly believe Amar'e was frustrated with his and his team's overall performance in the series. With Phoenix, he's used to advancing and fighting hard in the series. He's not used to knowing half-way through the elimination game that his team is done lol

I like Amare, I wanted him to come to the Bulls over Boozer. But he should have know that was going to be a foul no matter because they were playing in cryami and you just play against the heat but you also play against the refs aswell.

Classless move on the part of STAT. He's better than that.

On the other hand, I can see why he did it. He's had a crazy rough season this year, and Battier flopping didn't help.

That was a pretty hard flop by Battier.

Well unfortunately flopping has become part of the game. The smart players understand this and try to take advantage by learning how to flop in order to help their team win games. The dumb ones just keep complaing about it while their team is losing in the process. Flopping isn't going anywhere anytime soon so get with it or get left behind.

What's more funny is Battier pulled himself up grabbing Amare's shorts.

The thing is I remember back in the 80's that you don't help the opposing team off the floor. Even up until the Lakers three peat Shaq would refuse other teams help off the floor and wait for his teammates to help him. Maybe Amare is just nice at heart but he realized "I'm not supposed to help him up"

There's a misconception that a player cannot move or the charge will not be called. This is false. If the player has defensive position, his body can still be moving and still draw the charge.

http://www.nba.com/analysis/rules_c.html?nav=ArticleList

doesnt say anything anywhere about not being able to move.

doesnt say anything anywhere about not being able to move.

It says "the officials must decide whether the contact is negligible and/or incidental, judging each situation separately".If Battier gets nudged like that and doesn't go flying, then they could easily not call it.

I'll admit it was a charge... Amar'e shoulda passed to a wide open Novak. But he foolishly didn't and he took his chances w/ an And-one. Frustration... sure. Crappy officiating up to that point. I think we can all agree on that. And let’s face it, a hobbled team w/ 3 players out is not going to take it to 7.

But it was old-school and funny at the same time. Battier, a known flopper got punked. We'll see you Heat fans on the range next month... this is your only hope for a sports title this year, I understand. I'm sorry but you'll run into another team that is just more evenly balanced than you (or the Knicks for that matter EVER). Spurs in 6, book it.
