05-09-2012, 03:06 PM

Reports indicate Casey Janssen has been named the Toronto Blue Jays' new closer effective immediately.

Janssen assumes the role from interim closer Francisco Cordero who has struggled in his first season with the team, giving up at least one run in five of his last six appearances.

Good. Cordero sucks almost as much as Lind

Good, if I had to see Cordero on the mount for a save situation again, I'm going to puke.

Yah, considering the unstable closing situation last year, he probably should have gotten a shot then. I'm very glad we brought him back for a couple years. He's been quite consistent.

I really liked the Cordero signing in the off season, but man has he ever been useless.. bout time Farrell made a change... Nice to see Lind at the bottom of the order too

Cordero needs a few innings when he comes in a blow out game or something and regain his confidence -- Im sure its been shot in the past month.

A logical choice but more than likely not a long-term solution.

I think the goal is to find a suitable short-term solution. Sergio Santos, for better or worse, is the planned long-term solution.

Yeah Santos isn't dead, he's still the closer.
