I'll say the Bulls, but I don't think any of them will make a comeback.

Hawks. They have all three of their key guys back and also hold HCA. 2 home games could prove valuable.

Chicago might, but I just think their morale is too low after seeing their star tear his ACL

All of the magic pacers game have been decently close. I honestly would go with the magic because the games were competetive.

No, they dont hold HCA.

Boston won a game at Atlanta.

Atlanta would have to win game 6 back in boston to 'regain HCA'

Bulls or Hawks since they would have 2 games remaining at home. But I'd rather the Bulls lose honestly. If that team made the ECF it would be false hopes and the FO would never make any moves to help out Rose having a 2nd option guy. Now losing in round 1 without him to an 8th seed makes it the FO knows they have to get someone else around Rose no matter who it is to trade.

Should be an option for not a single one. Hawks could drag it out a bit but I doubt it. I would love for the bulls to come back cause Tibs is a BAMF but I don't see it.

Sorry, I didn't word that properly. I meant to say, that they would get game 7 at home if they push. It's easier to win 2 games at home and steal a road game when 3-1 down, than steal two (including the final game) on the road.

Bulls b/c the Sixers are by far the worst team with a 3-1 lead and two games are in Chicago.

Interesting stat, the Lakers are 33-1 in finishing off series when they are up 3-1. The 1 and only loss was in 2006 when the Lakers were up 3-1 on Nash's Suns and then choked.

If NY can win game 5, I think that series goes 7. Can you imagine MSG in a game 6?

Knicks need Lin back though for game 5, and they need him to at least be decent for 20-25 minutes. And they need JR to have a good game, the man is 8-33 the last 2 games! Credit MIA's defense, but he's also missing wide open shots. Knicks need a 25 point 10-18 kinda game from him.

As a knick fan this series has sucked so much though. I understand injuries are part of the game, but NY has just had the worst luck. With a healthy Lin, Shumpert, JJ. And with Chandler not being sick and Amare not missing game 3. I think we would be 2-2 right now.

We just have no weapons left, and now Baron is out... it really does suck. Especially when MIA is at full strength the whole series.

Lakers should and hopefully will close them out on tuesday, but them boys down in Denver can play some D. Last nights game they were banging with the Lakers. They got away with ALOT of blatant calls, but Im not gonna discredit there efforts. I hope the Knicks can take Miami a couple more games, but I no longer see them winning the series. They have way to many injuries and Melo for some reason turned his game down. Plus the Heat are gonna get 250,000 calls there way in Miami which will take the heart out of the Knicks early.

Knicks, because they're the only team that has the talent to pull it off. Only problem is that they obviously have chemistry issues. Two out of the last three games on the road isn't helping either. If they can take the momentum to Miami and Melo keeps hitting his shots and Amare has another game like game 4, who knows...
My second choice would be the Bulls, because they have HCA in the last three games, but they don't have that type of player anymore that can decide a game on his own with Rose being out.

Realistically all 4 or rather 5 teams will go fishing after the next 1 or 2 games.

This little gem probably explains it:

Most playoff series won when up 3-1 in NBA History (courtesy of ESPN):

1. Lakers 33
2. Celtics 25
3. Spurs 13
3. Bulls 12

I don't think any of them will, but if I had to choose, I'd say the Hawks...

Bulls - Almost no chance, as Philly is playing great defense and the Bulls continue to setting for jumpshots in their half court offense.

Knicks - No chance once Miami gets back home (Miami looked like they had no energy in game 4).

Magic - Can't make a case for them unless they get hot from the outside. Jason Richardson has been shooting the ball well but Indiana is a tough team.

Hawks - ?. With Rondo playing the way he is right now (and the Celtics in general), it's going to be tough to come back. Joe Johnson has to get back into driving to the hoop. He looks slow.

05-07-2012, 01:10 PM
I would say the chances are remote for all of them, though if pushed with teams as constructed, I'd probably say Chicago since 2/3 of the games have been tightly contested.

Knicks are too depleted.
Magic has no inner paint presence.
The Hawks have melted under the spotlight.

Now, if the question was which team would have the most media coverage if they made a comeback, the answer would far and away be the Knicks.

A comeback from 3-1 would be huge in the media.

A comeback with Jeremy Lin spearheading the charge would be more Linsanity than even some of the most hardcore Lin fans could take. The around the world coverage and media saturation combined with endless puns would make Linsanity 1.0 look like a warm up party...

Lord help us all if the Knicks come back and win the series with Lin posterizing the Heat along the way....

No team has every come back when they're down 0-3. I think the Knicks team is good if they were healthy, but theres almost no way since its against the Heat. Theres no way Jeremy Lin will play either, not that it will do anything (maybe make game 5 closer), he just came back from a knee cleanup (miniscus tear i think) and to expect him to risk another injury to his young career for almost no chance of making it to the 2nd round just doesn't make sense.

If Lin can come back and give them 15-20 minutes it would be huge. Amare's hand is healing, JR smith is due for a big game. And Chandler is due for a big game also.

Its a long shot, but I will say this, if NY can find a way to win game 5, MIA does NOT want to go into the garden for a game 6 against NY with Lin & Amare rounding back into shape. They would be under enormous pressure.

Why would Lin want to risk another injury when hes a FA after this season? And lets not assume he'll be the 14 PPG guy, hes probably not in game shape. Maybe if the Knicks were playing the Bobcats he should come back, but this is the Heat. No team has ever come back down 0-3, leave it to the Knicks to reinjure some of their young guys when theres no chance (almost). Also whats the point of even having Bibby and Douglas if they can't even use them?

Umm, like I said, if he could give them 15-20 minutes that would be huge. Knicks backcourt is completed depleted.

Who said they won't use Bibby? Haven't you been watching the series? He's playing huge minutes, but he needs a backup.

And FYI Lin was a 19ppg guy as a stater. For the year he finished at 14.6ppg, but all those garbage time cameos killed his average.

I'm gonna go with the Knicks because well, Rose is injured and I'm a Knick fan. It seems crazy unlikely, and if nobody else said Knicks I certainly wouldn't condemn them for it. But no one thought Boston would come back from 3-0 in 2004, and that happened. I'll be pulling for them all day. I think Miami is gonna come out playing hard tonight and probably end the series, but if the Knicks play their game perhaps there could be an upset. They don't have much of an answer for Stat and hopefully Spolestra doesn't put Lebron on Melo because he embarrassed Battier.

Boston never came back from 3-0 or 3-1. No team in NBA history has come back from being down 3-0 to win the series.

And as far as being back 3-1 the last couple teams were the '06 Suns against the Lakers, '03 Pistons over the Magic, and '97 HEAT over the Knicks. I'm not sure which team you were mistakenly thought came back from 3-0.
