He will be a FA soon and will most likely get Max or near max offers from other teams. OKC can match any offer but can they afford him? I believe Durant and Westbrook have Max contracts and Ibaka will get a pretty expensive deal.

Cool, but I still think Dwyane Wade is better.

pretty sure okc can only offer one 5 year max deal to either westbrook or harden.

westbrook will get the 5year max extension this year and harden will get the 4year deal like kevin love got

Can they afford Harden and Ibaka?

James Harden is the modern day Penny Hardaway.

This is why I wish there was no salary cap, so young teams like the Thunder can stay together.

Only if we amnesty Perk.

I think there should be some sort of rule integrated that allows teams that build through the draft to keep their team together.

There should be, because it sucks how they have to split.

Why can't they keep all 3?

Harden will be a member of the Thunder for years to come.

yea they gotta amnesty perk to afford westbrook-harden-durant-iblocka

you have to keep that core at all costs

OKC can keep ALL of them, they have their bird rights. Question is if their owner is willing to pay all that money AND the lux tax.

Harden's market value is probably around $12m.

They don't have to split up the team, they'll just have to pay the luxury tax. But are they willing to tie up $50M-$60M in 3 players for the next 4 years? If they do, then they need to be sure Ibaka, Sefolosha, and Maynor are all willing to come back, because they won't be able to get free agents who cost more than the half-MLE.

Oh, and for the record we're talking about 2013-14, not next year. Everyone's still under contract in 2012-13.

They should trade Westbrook for draft picks and solid role players. Then promote Harden to second option. Thunder would be a much better team.

I can see a team trying to screw OKC and sign Harden to the max. If he were starting games, he probably would be putting up like 20-5-5.

You need guys like Perk to fortify the interior defense and give you physical toughness. Ibaka is still young and can still learn a lot more from Perk. They've only been together for 1 1/2 yrs.

I think production-wise, in a season or two Cole Aldrich should be able to put up comparable offensive production with reasonable defense as Perkins. Obviously Kendrick is an intimidator and Aldrich is not, but I still think that Cole's wingspan and defensive IQ will help to soften the loss of Perkins. You just have to keep Westy, KD, Harden, and Serge together if you're the Thunder.

Why can't they keep all 3?

They can keep them all, it's all on Clay Bennett. If he wants to pay the luxury tax, then they will all be Thunder players for a long time.

Guarantee they amnesty Perk before they let Harden/Ibaka walk.

2 things to add:

1. When I noticed who made this thread, and realized that Wade>You posted, I lol'ed

2. It should also be very interesting to how much Ibaka gets paid when he hits the market. I mean, his BPG could heavily inflate that contract lol

i would be pissed if i was a thunder fan and bennett doesn't keep all 3 because hes too cheap.

i'm a sixers fan, but thunder are my second favorite team, they are so fun to watch.

i can't decide who i like more, westbrook, harden, or durant, they are all so fun to watch and are all classy players.

i love ibaka too, hes a block machine. collison is one of the best glue guys in the nba, hes a great defender and scraps for rebounds.

For what it's worth, the Thunder Beat writer Royce Young says there's a 0% chance we let Harden go. I think we lock him up, but I'm scared that that means Ibaka is out.

And people forget about Maynor, he's going to be highly coveted I think too.

it would be cool if sixers got him, but theres a 0.2 percent chance of that happening

if we do get him though, slide turner to sf and trade iggy

jru-harden-turner would be a good effin trio if jru and turner develop to studs.
