This. Can't wait.

I think this series will end up a best of three by the end of the Philly games.

I hope not. I really want to win these home games.

I think if the Bulls win this game, they win the series. An absolute must win game for us IMO.

Let's go Sixers!!

The pivotal game.
I see the team winning this one winning the series.

If the Sixers win Game 3 are they favourites for the series? They'd be 2-1 up with two games left in each city.

Thoughts?

If the Sixers win Game 3 are they favourites for the series? They'd be 2-1 up with two games left in each city.

Thoughts?

Based on our recent history in that same situation (up 2-1 against both Detroit and Orlando), I wouldn't call us the favorites. Sort of a, I won't believe it til' I see it, type of deal. That's why I say that if the Bulls take game 3 they take the series, but if we take game 3 I don't necessarily think we'll win the series.

I really think the Sixers can pull this off. They have a lot of confidence right now and things seems to be starting to click again like they were in the beginning of the year. I know the statistics from game 2 were an anomaly for us offensively, but we still seem to match up pretty well with Chicago minus Rose.

But I have so much respect for the Bulls team (although I personally HATE Noah) and for Thibs especially... I know they're gonna bring it, looking to bounce back. The playoffs are all about game-to-game adjustments, so I know Thibs is going to come in with a strong gameplan in response to what the Sixers did game 2. We'll see what happens.

Are the Bulls the same team that went 18-9 (or something like that) this year without Rose? Or are they going to be more mentally battered as it sinks in that their super hero isn't coming back? I'm assuming the former, because they still have a strong core of players and great coaching, but the Sixers looked as good as ever in game 2, so it should be a good battle still.

Stop Jrue and it'll be close. I seriously don't want to see Brewer anymore.

sixer04fan
05-03-2012, 11:18 PM
In terms of game execution though, it's basically the same story for both teams - defense, rebounding, and hitting your jump shots... Whoever does that better wins. Simple, but that's pretty much it haha... Not a big secret I guess.

pd7631
05-03-2012, 11:19 PM
I really think that after the Bulls got beat the way they did in game 2, they're gonna come into Philly and try to bully us. I KNOW the Bulls have that spirit in them to try and impose their will and push their opponent around. The thing I'm really hoping for, is that we push back for once.

As long as we keep Deng in check like last game (he was a ghost) I dont think the Bulls have much of a chance. With Rose out Deng is the only player good enough to carry the scoring the load, shut him down they are in trouble again.

I've always really liked Noah, but he's rubbed me the wrong way a bit recently too - the fingerbanging really gets annoying when he's dropping shots against you, and the constant talk and hatred for other teams and players is getting pretty close to everything he criticized KG for.

justinnum1
05-03-2012, 11:30 PM
philly controls the boards and gets holliday and brand going again and i think they have a great chance at this. I'll miss most this game due to work, but probably catach the last qtr, hope its close and competetive.

Very physical, swarming, Noah with his antics, Deng with his sharp shooting and penetration, Rose breaking down defenses, etc. I hate it when the Heat have to play them, but I enjoy it that much more when we win.

Jrue and E.T need to continue to step it up.

It's incredibly frustrating that it's taken this long for Doug to realize that Turner is a 18, 7, 5 player when he's allowed to control the ball.

Bulls will be out for blood though and their big's can dominate ours if they play up to their potential. Spencer Hawes starting at C is a death sentence, he is THE softest PLAYER in the league. Inexcusably soft in the paint and a waste of 7 feet. When a rookie 2nd rounder is outplaying you in the playoffs, something is wrong.

Guys I think MJ Bulls needs some credit for an awesome opening post thus far. I await the rest of it.

As for the games I think it's huge for us in every way. We know coach Thibs and the Bulls are going to come out with a plan for our backcourt trio of Williams, Holiday and Turner as they were the ones who really burned them last game. With that in mind I think coach Collins knows this and would be expecting one of his other guys like Thad Young to really pull him through with a big game.

Either way we know the playoffs is about adjustments and it would really be interesting to see how both coaches adjust and both teams adjust in this one.

The bulls had allowed 1 opponent to shoot over 50 percent in their last 50 games until tuesday, Denver shot an even 50 percent... Philly shot 59 percent on Tuesday... Anomaly... Won't happen again... Bulls are also the best rebounding team in the league, they will bounce back... Nice bait though

I feel like we are essentially the Sixers without Rose. It's actually not a bad matchup at all and if anything a guy like Turner can give you guys an edge. You guys have way more able attackers and guys who can slash then us.

We are just a very very fundamentally sound team.

05-04-2012, 10:50 PM
And please people who continue to think or had thought this Bulls team was better without Rose or elite just save it. It was stupid then and it is stupid now. The difference is the fact that Rose was a run stopper even if he wasn't efficient at all times the one thing he could do was stop a run before it happened.

We are a good team about as good as Philly without Rose. However we are not championship caliber without him.

Flat out spot on... With a Healthy Noah I have you guys as slightly better but really do not disagree with this post. I will take a win anyway I can get it though lol. I just pray our organization knows this is fools gold and if they had rose we would be done in 5

I feel terrible for them too, but they should have won this game. Blew a huge lead. Granted, they had a difficult time generating offense late in the game without Rose, but it's still a huge lead to blow. Awful, awful 4th quarter.

Yeah great game Philly you guys did deserve it. Refs blew about 5 calls but what else is new. Can't expect traveling to be called on Turner when they were looking to call a foul whenever they can...

Just do us Bulls fans a favor and win the next two games. Thibs' rotations and decision making down the stretch are downright atrocious. For once in many many years i'm considering not even watching the next game. smdh

But, I mean with how we look this is going to happen sooner then later. Philly is a good team and one that kind of has quite a bit to play for which can be dangerous.

This series is far from over. I think people counted Philly out but, forgot Philly isn't going to just roll over. Should make a great stretch. I think this might go 7 games but, Philly could end it early.

That's not a shot at Philly btw. You guys have a solid cast and one could argue it might be better but, at times lacks the confidence a guy like Rose can give a team. I felt like we ran on gas and fumes he had left with this team.

As stupid as that sounds I feel like the difference between the team that didn't have Rose before and the team now is in the back of their heads they know he isn't coming back.

That's the key to all of this IMO. Evan is starting to turn into 'the guy' for us, and our starless team won't be starless for long.

Dear Thibs,

Please stop playing John Lucas III, he sucks. I don't give a damn about him being able to hit some shots, as a point guard he's just useless (Chris Duhon level useless). He dribbles the ball for 18-20 second and then decides to make something happen which usually ends with a pathetic off balance shot, either by himself or someone else.

Signed,
A Bulls fan

Can't really blame Lucas though, he just frustrates me, the Bulls just looked awful in the 4th. Deng needs to step up though, he's not playing up to his usual standards, without him putting up 20, the Bulls will inevitably fail.

Problem was other teams didn't get this memo. Kudos to Philly as well with or without Rose they weren't going to roll over to allow something like that to happen. Bulls choked but, Philly started playing amazing once again and showing heart. Out hearting/working the Bulls is a feat in itself.

If Bulls don't win I could possibly see myself cheering the Sixers on the rest of the way or at least till they get to the Championship to face Durant lol then I got to go with my boy. Love under dogs.

Tough luck for Chicago with Noah and his ankle.

As for Chicago, unfortunately I believe that the 76ers just match up really well against you.

They're like poison to your Bigs. Fast, athletic, picking off rebounds, high speed to run your Bigs down and transition, and super fast rotations which allows them to cover alot of ground and snag steals.

That and Doug Collins is no joke.

I still suspect that the Bulls can win, even being down 1 game. However, it's going to take a serious A+ effort from the Bulls to take the series back.

Though being down 2-1, I put Chicago at no better than a Coin Flip to get out of the first round. Not ready to call the 76ers the favorites yet, but they're getting darn close.

Where's the people that overrated the Bulls record during the regular season to slight Rose?

News flash the Bulls are a max effort team during the season and it consistently catches teams off guard, that's why we won games in the regular season at the rate we did. When a team is able to game plan for a Rose'less Bulls team it's different. And go figure we happen to be playing an eighth seed right now. So over an 82 game season without Rose can we make the playoffs? Maybe, maybe not but for the people that consistently gushed over the Bulls winning without Rose, you're exposed.

Are people really going to call the bulls a regular season team? Game 1 we kicked phillys *** then we lost rose then tonight noah. This is not even close to the same team.

I've said what I'm about to say on this site before and gotten immature grilling from it and I'm sure I'll get more immature grilling.

The Bulls without Rose are a better version of the Iverson Sixers without Iverson and Rose is not as good as Iverson was.

My point is the Bulls are slightly more then a one man show. They didn't make the finals last year because in the regular season it was a team effort and in the playoffs the team relied on Rose.

There isn't one player on the Bulls I trust in the playoffs without Rose. I agree with the notion the Bulls are a great regular season team and not much more because they would have been better in the playoffs last year and they wouldn't have mailed it in during the 4th last night if they where anything more.

The Bulls are Rose or bust and you don't win titles with a one man show, if one man could win Lebron would have gotten a ring in Cleveland and Iverson would have gotten a ring with Philly.

jp611
05-05-2012, 09:10 AM
Rose isnt a one man show though, his supporting cast are all good 2a and 2b options and they were definitely going to have a chance at a ring this year until the injuries hurt them... This Bulls are only a regular season team is garbage... It's not easy to win a championship... 1 team wins it every year... If you don't win it that doesnt make you a regular season team... Bulls were young last year and injured this year... You may or may not be wrong but there's more to it than just saying garbage like that

2-ONE-5
05-05-2012, 09:15 AM
^the Bulls went what 18-9 w/out Rose in the regular season and everyone said they still beat the Sixers with ease bcuz of that. But the fact is you cant win without your leader in the playoffs, you cant rely on Watson and Lucas to run your team and teams now have time to prepare for them. Watching the Bulls without Rose you can see they really are average and i dont get how they were able to win that many game witout Rose.
