Can someone please explain the rules of the playoff for me

From what I remember the top four seeds get home-court
and each divison-winner will get at worst a fourth seed no matter how bad the record is compared to the other teams

And here are the standing for the 2011-2012 season

1-Chicago (50-16)
2-Miami (46-20)
3-Indiana (42-24)
4-Boston (39-27)
5-Altanta (40-26)
6-Orlando (37-29)
7-New York (36-30)
8-Philadelphia (35-31)

If so why is Boston playing at Altanta for the first two game, when Boston is the 4th seed.

Hope someone can provide a detailed rulings for the playoffs games.

Homecourt is determined by record not seed in the playoffs.

Ya even tho Boston has a higher seed due to division, Hawks have a better record.
